When you rank as the second best bakery in New York City on TripAdvisor, and the 2nd best place to eat out of over 12,000 locations in the best city in the world, chances are you are doing something pretty epic and right with your business. Well, the hype is real, as Levain Bakery reigns supreme in The Upper West Side as one of the best damn bakeries in NYC… period. With getting press up the wazoo including appearances on the top NYC affiliates such as CBS 2 and NBC 4’s “New York Live”, oh, and… OPRAH… Levain has developed themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the sweets world, inside and out of the city. So what makes this place so damn good to where the lines are literally out the door to get a taste of all the tasty treats they are concocting?
For one… they treat their customers like family, in not only their UWS location, but their Harlem and East Hampton one as well. Being opened for over twenty years now, with its first location starting in 1994, their goal is pretty simple- keep their regulars happy while bringing in thousands of new customers per year. The fact that their cookies are six ounces, pretty damn heavy, and are packed with a ton of flavor in each one, doesn’t hurt either. They are known for their world famous Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie, but have a ton of other delicious ones in their arsenal that the public wait for like tickets to a Justin Bieber concert just to devour and enjoy.
Highlights from Levain Bakery include classics like their Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, Dark Chocolate Chip, and Dark Peanut Butter Chip. All are absolutely fantastic. They also have a ton of great products on the rolls side, which was the focus when they were on The Oprah Winfrey Show a couple of years ago. Everything from their Sour Cream Coffee Cake, Sticky Bun and Country Rolls are simply heavenly and worth the trip. Just take a look at this review from TripAdvisor if you are still apprehensive- “The chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie is taste like heaven. I think this is the best cookie in the world. You must have it when you’re in NYC. That’s gonna be life-changing experience. I promise!”
Don’t just take our word for it. Whether you reside in Long Island or NYC, Levain Bakery is worth the trip. Take a look at their official site for more information.
