Although personally I have felt that the longest day of the year happens several times a week, the actual date for it happens this coming Tuesday, otherwise known as the “Summer Solstice”.  It is the one day a year where the dark really only happens as late in the day as possible, and many Manhattanites take advantage of the beautiful light and weather during this gorgeous summer that we have been having.  One tasty coffee spot wants you to celebrate the longest day ever with… FREE COFFEE!  This sweet deal is courtesy of Trademark Grind, which is located in the heart of Midtown West.

The first 50 customers of the day will be treated to a free cup of Sweetleaf Coffee Roasters to get their Summer Solstice started right.  How freaking awesome is that?  If you don’t happen to be the first fifty customers that show up that day for the free cup of jo, fear not as there are some other great coffee locations that are serving up some delicious coffee infused cocktails to enjoy for the later hours in the day.  Here they are!

Trademark Taste (38 West 36th Street) borrowed some coffee from their sister Trademark Grind to whip up their Morning Buzz ($14). The cocktail, created by Pamela Wiznitzer, is a buzzy blend of Tin Cup Whiskey, Trademark Grind coffee, Jäger Spice, and Orgeat.
Happy Summer Solstice everyone, drink up!
