It is very hard for an international artist to have success here in the states, however Alessandro Coli plans on breaking that stereotype and becoming the next biggest thing in music.  Alessandro, who was born in Italy, recently made the rounds in Manhattan to promote his new single “I Betcha” and introduce his international flavor to a brand new audience.

Born in Santarcangelo di Romagna in 1997, Alessandro Coli has been in love with music since he was five years old; his passion for music grew more and more by listening to Freddie Mercury.  Having released his brand new single I Betcha during his stay here in New York, it garnered an exclusive video premiere and interview with MySpace while his impeccable talent, powerful voice and charisma shined bright while he sat down with TV Grapevine, UInterview, Live It Up with Donna Drake, radio stations WHPC 90.3FM, WUSB 90.1FM, WRCN 103.9FM, WROM, Party 105.3FM and performed LIVE on stage at the Annual First Company Pink “Pink Pumpkin Patch” Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser, The Emporium, Aura Night Club, Revel, and Mio Posto!

With all the chaos that is going on around him, Alessandro Coli was nice enough to sit down with us at Manhattan Digest to discuss his booming music career and so much more.  Take a look.

At what age did you discover you wanted to get into music?

At a very young age I started loving music when my grandma used to play her old Italian records in her car but discovering I really wanted to get into music came after, at the age of 10/11.

What artists or people inspired you to want to making singing a career?

Most of all Freddie Mercury. I started thinking about a career collecting every possible Queen item, from vinyl records to DVDs, and trying to sing their songs. I really mean trying. *laughs*

How would you describe your music to our readers?

It’s basically pop music, you can dance to it, laugh to it, even cry to it. Some songs have definitely a dance taste.

What do you find to be the biggest difference between the Italian music scene and ours here in the United States?

Well, I guess the importance of the productions. In Italy they’re quite of a lower level, American ones are the worldwide role model for the top songwriters.

Do you have a favorite moment in your career so far?

I don’t have an actual favorite moment besides everything referred to music I did in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Those are  really great experiences.

Tell us about your new single “I Betcha”, what was the inspiration in doing this song?

“I Betcha” is the story of a lost love. The guy in the song says basically that she’s going to be missing him. Me and C-Rod writing it tried to insert some personal experiences, that’s what makes it special.

Do you plan on releasing an album as well?

Who knows.. I’ll probably keep on releasing some new singles, a Remix maybe..

What are you hopeful for in 2017 and beyond?

I hope I’ll get more people to listen to my music, that’s a never ending desire for any artist I guess. Happiness is the most important thing at the end of the day.
