Even though Manhattan Digest caters primarily to the best of lifestyle culture in the epicenter of the world, there are times where we take ourselves out of our concrete jungle box and experience what else is out there. As someone who resided in Huntington, Long Island for a good portion of his life, I have become very privy to the ever expanding foodie culture that inhabits the area, in particular Huntington Village. That led me to my most recent culinary adventure when I stopped by Swallow, located right on New York Avenue. [Read more…] about Swallow is Worth The Trip to Long Island

A Personal Tribute: To Phoebe, With Love
November has been a very difficult month for a multitude of reasons. One being the uncertain future our country faces after January 20, 2017. However, November got off to a somber start even before the election in my corner of the world when my beloved dog, Phoebe, passed away at the age of 15. Phoebe was a loyal and loving dog who was present in my life through all of the ups and downs one could have in 15 years time. Phoebe was the only constant presence in a sea of changes that occurred during that period in my life. Phoebe was at my side through graduations, boyfriends, college, graduate school, jobs, and all of the emotions that go along with those experiences. Review- “Don’t You F**king Say a Word” & “Terms of Endearment” at 59E59th
One thing about Andy Bragen’s original comedy: It undeniably has a catchy title. Currently at 59E59 Theater, Don’t You F**king Say a Word is meant to be a high octane comedy about an ongoing, competitive tennis match between two testosterone fueled men and the women who love them. Unfortunately, the title is the most provocative aspect you’ll find in this otherwise dull play. [Read more…] about Review- “Don’t You F**king Say a Word” & “Terms of Endearment” at 59E59th

I avoid Herald Square at all costs, especially when it involves taking the F (or in my own words, F my life) train anywhere, especially during rush hour. There are exceptions to the cause, and one was the fantastic experience me and a friend had last night when we took it to the 2nd Avenue stopped and checked into Rochelle’s. Also known as Leave Rochelle Out Of It, this super chill and fun location located on Chrystie Street provides everything you need for a Lower East Side experience. Michelin Brings Out the Stars in Manhattan
The Michelin Guide’s annual recognition ceremony is an event that showcases the best and brightest in food. On Nov 17, in the IAC building, we assembled to honor the culinary talents of 2017. Being my first formal cocktail party in the city, I was kvelling with excitement. Men in dapper suits and ladies in that perfect little black dress spinning around the room. The air was sweet with delicious sugary confections and the violet blooms that adorned the Brugal cocktails lined up at the ready of garrulous partygoers. Splashes of gold, red, and blue light rotating with floral patterns washed over room bringing the shiny blank canvas of space to life with a vibrant bouquet. Petaluma’s Super Italian Style Brunch Reigns Supreme
With thirty years of business under its belt, Petaluma sure seems to be doing things right in The Upper East Side. Winner of OpenTable’s “Diners Choice 2015”, Petaluma seems to have struck a chord with its repeat and new customers by providing some amazing Italian American cooking to the masses each and every year. I stopped by yesterday to see what all the fuss was about, and was quite pleased with the end result. [Read more…] about Petaluma’s Super Italian Style Brunch Reigns Supreme
