Casino Scenes Around Manhattan

by Ryan Shea

Manhattan is the most populated borough in New York City and is known as the heart of the “Big Apple”. As a result, it is also one of the top tourist destinations with Broadway and the impressive Empire State Building. Some people even enjoy partaking in the gambling offered by the casino surrounding Manhattan.

Empire City Casino

Located outside of the city in Yonkers, this casino is located at a half mile harness racing track. For those who enjoy playing the slots, there are over 5,300 machines including the most popular themes today.  Progressive slots can also be found on the casino floor. Fans of table games can enjoy electronic versions of popular favorites such as roulette, craps, baccarat, blackjack and poker. Promotion kiosks can be found scattered throughout providing chances for gamers to cash in on available promotions.

Resorts World Casino

Find the thrill of gambling right in the middle of the Big Apple at the Resorts World Casino. The casino is divided into two levels: Times Square Casino and Fifth Avenue Casino.  The Fifth Avenue casino includes table games such as baccarat, blackjack, craps, roulette, poker and sic bo. High limit rooms are available here. Those wanting to play slot machine games will need to visit the Times Square Casino level which houses over 2,800 slot machine games. More table games can also be found here.

The Borgata

Two hours to the south of Manhattan, along the coast, is the East Coast gambling center of Atlantic City. Expect to find many casinos here along with the Borgata. While the Borgata is known to have all popular casino games, it does specialize in poker with 85 tables, the most in the city. Tournaments are held daily with buy-ins as small as $40 or as large as $30,000.

For those wanting to enjoy gambling, Manhattan can be a great option rather than the usual gambling venue of Las Vegas.
