New restaurant alert! The Lindeman Restuarant, adjacent to The OUT Hotel on W. 42nd Street in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, has now opened up for the masses to enjoy. Helmed by Executive Chef Carlo Alioto, who previously has worked at legendary locations including The Standard Grill and Omar’s La Ranita, he is taking New American cuisine to a whole other level.
Acclaimed executive chef Carl Alioto is helming the ambitious bistro, bringing a fresh culinary experience to Hell’s Kitchen. Alioto has also worked in several landmark kitchens including Tutu’s Farm to Table and The Flatiron Hotel. Alioto has also developed private dining experiences for celebrity clients including Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. “The menu at The Lindeman is true to its new American roots but it is lighter in style,” said Alioto. “Neighbors and guests now have a new place to grab a glass of wine and indulge in great cuisine.”

The restaurant’s intimate setting offers ample plush banquette seating and a glamorous industrial bar complete with exposed red brick. Distressed tile floors and stunning modern lighting complement the ivory, brown and brass palette that evokes classic New York style while antique mirrors add glamour and sparkle to their surroundings. The lounge area is perfect for pre-dinner cocktails and light bites, immediately enveloping diners with the sense of signature luxury and comfort. The large format oak communal dining table in the lounge area comfortably seats 10 guests.
“In designing The Lindeman, we wanted to introduce a refined yet rustic interpretation of a classic bistro.” said Executive Director Jacob Langfelder.

Offerings at The Lindeman vary by season, placing emphasis on a handpicked selection of produce, seafood and meats from local markets and partners, all produced within 90 miles of the restaurant. The meats are hormone and steroid free, and the seafood is line-caught. Specialty menu items include Cucumber Carpaccio with yogurt and String Bean Tempura with chipotle aioli. Tableside dishes include the Chicken Fried Quail, Lamb Meatballs and Hudson Valley Duck made with toasted hazelnut farro.
The restaurant will also be open for breakfast every day and brunch on the weekend. For brunch, the kitchen offers house-made pastries and breads, oven-baked egg dishes, and other specialties such as Grapefruit Brulee with crystallized ginger and a Smoked Salmon Panini.
For the summer months, the restaurant will be promoting their Rosé Fête Happy Hour with $5 glasses of Grande Récolte Rosé and dollar raw oysters. This special offer will be available from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Lounge.

The Lindeman’s beverage program celebrates the resurgence of wine culture and boasts a world-class wine selection curated by Langfelder. Mixologist Matt Hanson curated the cocktail list, which focuses on modern interpretations of classic libations. Signature options include The Lindeman, which is crafted with St Germaine, Yellow Chartreuse, and house-made rhubarb bitters, The Lindeman Lillet, a cocktail curated with Burnt Orange, Bitters, Lillet Blanc and Champagne, a Cosmo Sour made with vodka, Chambord, 6100 Vodka and Lime, and a Papaya Margarita featuring Blanco Tequila, Papaya pulp and Lime. Cocktails are designed to pair closely with the dinner menu.

Culture and community define The Lindeman’s allure and energy and the menu encourages guests to share and order collaboratively. The restaurant took its name from Lindeman & Sons, one of the first piano factories in the United States, established in Brooklyn in 1836. The signature piano now sits proudly in the lounge area after being rescued from a street corner only a few blocks away the hotel.
