If you haven’t heard of foraging, you’re not alone. Urban foraging is an exciting adventure that involves searching for wild, edible plants, fruits, and herbs right in nature! It’s a fun way to connect with the outdoors and discover delicious, fresh ingredients in our backyards. As a native New Yorker, I’ll admit this concept never crossed my mind—until I experienced urban foraging with Fox & Oden Whiskey!

I am no stranger to the plenty of benefits of different herbs. I had no idea that the vast land of Central Park could provide these ingredients.I highly suggest not going foraging alone; seek guidance from an expert like Journei Bimwala. She took us on an enlightening tour, demonstrating how to use various plants and flowers in everyday life, particularly for mixing up fun cocktails.

After the foraging lesson, it was time for some cocktail-making fun!

 

 

 

We joined our expert mixologist, Ivy Mix, for a hands-on cocktail-making session that highlighted the beauty of foraged ingredients. We learned to a create fresh, botanical-infused cocktail that was not only refreshing but also sustainable. For one extraordinary night, two culinary experts united to collaborate on an unforgettable 8-course menu, skillfully infusing their distinct flavors into every dish. Finally, they united their culinary prowess to create a joint dessert, bringing the evening to a truly remarkable conclusion.

Given the incredible success of previous Chefs on Tour events in Lisbon and Dubai, it’s no surprise that Time Out Market New York was next on this stop. During the event, attendees indulged in a night of pure gastronomic delight, savoring the finest cuisines from around the world, all within the vibrant heart of Brooklyn. Taking them on a tantalizing culinary journey, the 8-course menu began with mouthwatering cold starters, featuring Maguro tartar and salmon tataki pizza. 

Next, they were treated to an irresistible selection of savory hot starters, enticing their taste buds with a perfect harmony of flavors, featuring tantalizing Refi fried wings and delicate steamed bao buns.

Guests indulged in extraordinary main dishes, where chefs showcased their expertise with delectable black cod and mouthwatering open filet mignon ravioli.

To cap off a delightful evening, attendees savored a bento dessert box, packed with a delightful assortment of treats—crepes, chocolate-covered strawberries, and more—to satisfy every craving..
