Human Retrospective: NYPD and FDNY Photo Blog

Amongst the sea of humanity that is the island of Manhattan, the NYPD police and firefighters of New York are ever present parts of the urban landscape. Theirs is a tireless vigil amplified by the events of 9/11, 15 years ago.

Catching them camera obscura as they work is something like looking into the soul of the city. Over my time photographing the city I have been lucky enough to capture many of these images. Here is a sample of my favorites:
