Out neighbor state Connecticut is completely contrasting from the bustling city life we live everyday. No matter the season, Connecticut has something to suit any interest, which brings us to Saybrook Point Inn.
Located in Old Saybrook 2.5 hours from Manhattan, this marina town is ideal for your year round alleviation. As you travel up you’ll slowly notice the buildings escape and the sightings of more greenery become more apparent, which is an indication of the views to come.
The point sits in the middle of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, so waking up to an incredible sunrise is a natural amenity that you can only dream about. There are many slumbering options of course, each invoking a distinct relaxing vibe, which will determine the type of piece of mind you leave with.
Tall Tales & Three Stories are the new guest houses located across the street from the main cabins. The rooms are named after historical people who impacted the town in a positive light. This is your own personal oasis with each quarter equipped with steam showers, deep soaking bath tubs and a picturesque balcony perfect for bird watching. There are also spacious living spaces such as common room areas, game rooms, and roof-top fire pits to further keep you entertained.
Outside of your room there are other options to finding your inner zen here at Saybrook. Sanno Spa is an on the premises pampering haven. Here you can get any service from a full body massage to a body scrub, ideal for you and your girls to nourish in.
What is even better about Sanno is that it is attached to a wellness center furnished with a serious steam room, sauna, two heated saltwater pools (one outdoor) and yes, a whirlpool.
After letting your mind slip to complete emptiness at Sanno you’ll notice how you may have worked up an appetite. Fresh Salt is Saybrook’s on-site restaurant that collects their ingredients fresh from the local artisans, farmers and fisherman.
With the menu changing every season it would be quite difficult to say you tried everything they have to offer. The Monkfish Steak, also know as a poor mans lobster is unique with every bite. The texture of fish combined with the crunchiness of the lightly fried skin combined with the orzo pasta will keep you excited for the next bite.
The dessert menu is impacted with innovative dessert combinations with our favorite being the Pumpkin Chai Creme Brulee. Very creamy and candied with a hint of spice due to the chai aspect.
