Last month, I got to experience a taste of how the other half lives. I was invited to Victor De Souza’s launch of his new lipstick line at the swanky makeup store Cos Bar.
Cos Bar was founded in 1976 and is all about high end skincare and makeup. It’s a small store but the quality of the products sold there is unparalleled.
While we sipped champagne I was treated to getting my makeup done while models walked around in couture fashion from Victor De Souza’s newest line.
The new lipsticks come in 7 alluring shades aptly named: Female Trouble, Raspberry Reich, The Hunger, Doom Generation, Liquid Sky, Mysterious Skin, and Stage Fright. Each lipstick retails at $68, if you must have them all there is a limited edition set for $408.
Personally, my favorite color is Female Trouble.

You might be wondering what makes these lipsticks worth $68 a pop, well Mr. De Souza uses a signature “hyla-bubble formulation. Hyaluronic acid is trapped in micro-bubbles and released when lips are pressed together, replenishing moisture and redepositing color to the lip area.”
Shea Butter, Illipe Butter, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Vitamins A, C, & E are in each tube of lipstick. Keeping lips conditioned and protected from free radical damage. Another HUGE plus about De Souza’s lipstick is zero animal testing, they are paraben-free, and made in NYC.
De Souza says, “Inspiration came quite literally from my lipstick ‘Mysterious Skin,’ while thinking of the soft vintage hues of this shade and seeing it in contrast to a classic yet modern and edgy component the idea of this collection started to form. Mysterious Skin in relation to the couture has such similar aspects. Taking note from Victorian prude fashion and the eighteenth century eroticism such as body silhouettes, textures, and lines letting the body show through structure couture clothing and mystery This is something I believe is truly erotic.”
Available now only online here and at Cos Bar located in Brookfield place and at Osswald NYC.
