Move over Bon Chon, step aside H Mart, there’s a new Korean food spot in New York City that is gonna give these chains a run for their money, and it’s just in time for Lunar New Year. Meet Bibigo To Go.
Korea’s number one food company CJ brings you Bibigo To-Go. They recently opened a pop-up shop at Rockefeller’s Concourse, making this their East Coast debut! They are serving up some delicious Korean food. On-the-go or dine-in, Bibigo has options for everyone’s schedule, which is perfect when you live in the hustle and bustle of NYC.
Bibigo’s menu is incredibly accessible for basic, unrefined palates unfamiliar with Korean food, while still maintaining authenticity. I had the chance to devour several items on their dine-in menu.
Jap-Chae – Korean clear noodles which are stir-fried with veggies. Simple and pleasing.
Bulgogi Lunch Box – thin beef slices marinated in a mouth watering sauce, served with rice.
Bibim Kimbap – Like a sushi roll, but more savory and filled with meat.
Fried Tofu Kimbap – The vegetarian friendly version of Bimim Kimap.
Kimchi Fried Rice – I love kimchi and I love rice, together they make a delicious meal served with a sunny side up fried egg and sausage.
Sweet & Spicy Chicken Bites – Korean fried chicken yumminess.
Sparkling Pomegranate Punch – A refreshing drink to accompany your meal.
For those of you in a hurry Bibigo To Go offers several frozen options to take home. Including their Mandu dumplings in beef, chicken and pork, Bibimbap Bulgogi Beef and a variety of Steamed Dumplings. There’s nothing like a midnight snack of dumplings, probably one of my favorite foods.
Starting January 24th and going till January 26th this pop-up will offer two specials in honor of Lunar New Year. For those of you wanting to dine in you can get the Lunar New Year Luck Box. This includes Bibigo’s Mandu, Chicken Bites, and a coupon for a free bag of their frozen Mandu all for $9. Which is a total steal, especially here in NYC. Bibigo To Go also has a Lunar New Year at Home Package which includes one bag of each frozen Mandu, Crispy Chicken Bites, Frozen Japchae, and a a custom Bibigo Mandu Steamer. All of this for just $25, a great to start celebrating the Year of the Rat!
As with all pop-ups, they don’t last forever so I highly recommend stopping by Bibigo To Go before they peace out.
