Melt Shop, one of the most delicious fast casual spots in Manhattan, is going above and beyond during the growing Coronavirus pandemic by donating free meals to thousands of hospital workers and children.
What a way to cheer up your day. Melt Shop, home of an array of tasty items like their Burger Melt, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Classic Dill Pickle and Chocolate Milkshake, has enacted its “Melt it Forward” campaign. The campaign has been created to deliver comfort food to hospital workers, the national guard and families in need. The “Melt it Forward” campaign is also keeping current Melt Shop employees busy and hard at work during a time when unemployment will climb. This is valid at all NYC locations.
Highlights of the campaign include:
Free Melts for Heroes – Melt Shop has delivered sandwiches, tenders and tots to more than 1,000 hospital workers (another thousand coming this week) and will be delivering food to 150 members of the national guard every night. Any hospital worker can also receive a free sandwich for takeout at their nearest Melt Shop location.
Free Melts for Kids– School closures have impacted children’s access to free lunch. Melt Shop is providing kids with free melted sandwiches through April 20 (one sandwich per child per visit).
Showing Team Members Love– 100% of sales from all git cards will be given to Melt Shop’s employees.
The campaign appears to be a huge success. Melt Shop has now completed 17 hospital food deliveries with another 30+ planned in the coming days/weeks. They are also continuing to feed 150 national guard members daily. They have now eclipsed 6,000 meals provided to healthcare workers and national guard members.
