When you think fast food, you tend to think of places like Wendy’s or McDonald’s, and not necessarily in a positive way. I don’t know anyone going into those places and thinking, “Golly I am going to get fruit instead of fries and a salad instead of a Big Mac”, so generally these things tend to have a negative connotation to them. Minimum costs with little flavor or value to them. What if you could find a place that boasts fresh, local & upscale gourmet all wrapped in one for you and your friends to devour? Look no further than Herb N’ Kitchen, located right inside the New York Hilton Midtown on 6th Avenue between 53rd and 54th street.

Herb N’ Kitchen is conveniently located towards the back of the lobby at the Hilton, and is a perfect example of getting some great food on the go, whether you are coming or going. With the warm weather finally arriving in New York City, it is also a great idea for anyone who is staying at the Hilton or based around the area to pick up a variety of tasty treats, head outside and enjoy the delectables with friends and family.
“With casual dining on the rise, our guests can enjoy quick, healthy and gourmet food options at value-driven prices,” said Beth Scott, vice president, global product development, food & beverage, Hilton Worldwide. “Herb N’ Kitchen provides a fresh, approachable and gourmet concept that engages guests by offering five integrated zones for the ultimate in customization.”
The distinct zones that shape the Herb N’ Kitchen culinary experience at New York Hilton Midtown are: Arrival, a retail-like experience with relevant merchandise in a well-designed display; Barista, offering quick coffee drinks, pastries, fruit and yogurts; Oven, offering flatbreads and burgers; and the Buffet, providing relevant and healthy options for breakfast in a sophisticated, yet relaxed environment in the Dining Room.

Herb N’ Kitchen provides a wide variety of high-quality food from salads, sandwiches and flatbreads to signature specialty items and regional gourmet treats to main courses that appeal to local and international guests. Some of the highlights that stood out for me for anyone to try is their Pat LaFreida Burgers with New York cheddar served on cornmeal kaiser rolls, the Roasted Mushroom and Soppressata Paninis, Margherita and Pepperoni Flatbreads and delicious french fries (Herb N’Fries) as a side dish.

They also have a line of really tasty desserts for you to savor after the main courses are finished. Decently sized for the palette to enjoy yet not overwhelm, I would recommend trying classics like their Cannoli’s, New York Style Cheesecake or Peanut Butter Bar as a great way to finish off what is already a great meal. They also have fresh food items for breakfast options like egg sandwiches, pastries and top of the line illy Coffee as well as delicious salads, cold and hot sandwiches, and daily specials so no matter what you will find what you are looking for.
Overall I think this concept would work well for any travelers or people living in New York City. What is even better is that the price points are great for any budget, and you get quality on top of all of this. For more information on Herb N’Kitchen, check out their official site.
