Come Relax in the Living Room at W New York- Times Square

by Ryan Shea

In the midst of the holiday season and all of its craziness, it is good to get away for a bit and relax.  Can you believe that in the craziest part of New York City, Times Square, that there is something smack dab in the middle of it that allows you to do that and then some?  Well look no further than The Living Room, located right inside W New York- Times Square   on 47th and Broadway.

The Living Room is quite simple to get to and can be used in a variety of ways.  Want to bring a date there for an elegant and sophisticated night for two?  Done.  Want to hold a business meeting with one of a kind cocktails and your own music playing in your pod?  Taken care of.  Just feel like lounging on their big and spacious couches with some friends while celebrating a birthday, promotion, or engagement?  Sure!  There is a lot that The Living Room has to offer and it is all done on a quick elevator trip up to the 7th floor, where the doors open to a relaxed and chill environment.

The Living Room actually is still a new concept at W New York- Times Square that has had quite a bit of change in recent months.  According to a spokesperson at the hotel- “We underwent a $10M renovation to totally redesign the space and had this beautiful result! Modeled after classic elements of New York and Times Square, our venue features glistening chandeliers, sultry alcove booths and lounges, NYE Ball DJ booth, a year long countdown to the New Year, a “burlesque” neon light installation, interactive photo booth, and an amazing graffiti mural designed by Lady Aiko leading to our WC’s.”
“Our new programming consists of The Daily Mix, occurring Mondays-Fridays featuring the hottest downtown and Brooklyn DJs. Some of the countries hottest DJ’s spinning every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night and holding our weekly Thursday party, Cocktails with Jessica. Some of our special event clients have been Hood By Air, IVY, Broadway Cares, Voss Events, Next Magazine, Starbucks, Anheuser Busch & 4AM.”

The Living Room seems like the perfect place for you to go and simply just enjoy yourself and your surroundings.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time there when I went last week, and it definitely puts you in the right mood with all the chaos that New York City brings.  I would definitely recommend trying them out and seeing what all the fuss is about!  For more information on The Living Room, check out their official site and introduction video below.
