Vandal- 199 Bowery
Vandal is the latest restaurant lounge by the TAO Group and Chef Chris Santos. Vandal celebrates the art, architecture, and food of global street culture from New York to Vietnam to Barcelona and beyond, as well as the history and culture of the restaurant’s Lower East Side location. The two-level space includes a bar/lounge, restaurant, private dining room, cellar bar/lounge and Secret Garden. The 12,000 sq. ft. interior has been conceived as a maze like space filled with old, undiscovered private rooms and catacombs. The building’s entry, tunnel, lounge, dining areas, and art installations are intricately choreographed to create a sense of discovery in each room. Similarly to the space itself, the menu prompts discovery as well with an array of Sweet, Savory, and Barrel Aged Cocktails that accompany the plethora of small plates influenced by global street fare from destinations all over the world. Inspired by a lifetime of travel from owner Chef Chris Santos, the menu represents dishes like those he sampled from New York, Vietnam, Barcelona, and more.

Beauty & Essex- 146 Essex Street
Beauty & Essex has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant’s entrance, a well-curated modern day pawn shop replete with a saxophone, boom-box, quirky artifacts, vintage treasures and an eclectic array of “one-off” pieces of jewelry. Continuing past the pawn shop, guests encounter a grand, circular staircase wrapped around a two-story custom chandelier, but only the adventurous will discover all that Beauty & Essex has to offer. With four distinct dining rooms (one private), two bars, a lounge and a women’s bathroom complete with a salon including a luxurious sofa, antique perfume bottles and a private bartender offering complimentary bubbly. The cuisine, much like the design, is intended to set a new course. Chef Chris Santos was one of the pioneers of the small, share plate dining trend that has swept the nation, and with the Beauty & Essex menu, he once again has created waves on the food scene. Santos’ famed multi ethnic small plates are behind the menu which features “Jewels on Toast” – a nightly selection of crostini with toppings like Roasted Bone Marrow with Rioja Braised Shallots; a “Raw Bar” with offerings ranging from Prime Steak Tartare with Crispy Mustard & Chive Sticky Rice to the less traditional Tomato Tartare with a Sunny Side Up Quail Egg; a selection of house-made pastas, dry-aged steaks; and a selection of creative desserts round-out the menu.

The Stanton Social- 99 Stanton Street
The Stanton Social is a product of the talented chef/owner Chris Santos, Tao owner Richard Wolf and Peter Kane of Happy Ending and has quickly become one of the sexiest restaurants and lounges in NYC. With the help of Avroko, the James Beard award winning design firm, The Stanton Social pays homage to the LES garment industry past with an innovative design. The three-level space features a thirty-foot glowing wine wall displaying over 2,000 bottles of wine in a herringbone pattern, fringe-covered walls, fine lizard skin banquettes, leather handrails and belt-strapped pillows, all of which subtly tip their hat to the luxury and glamour found in the textiles and fashions of the 1940’s. This modern New York bistro serves multi-ethnic share plates designed to offer guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. The menu offers a full raw bar as well as forty additional items such as French Onion Soup Dumplings, Duck Empanadas, Kobe Beef Burgers, Lobster Roll Sliders, Oysters Rockefeller and The Stanton Social Beef Wellington.
