The 88th annual Academy Awards will be taking place live this coming Sunday night on ABC. Will this finally be the year that Leonardo DiCaprio wins an Oscar for his role in “The Revenant”? Will Lady Gaga steal the show again with her Oscar nominated song “Til It Happens To You”? One thing is for certain, around the country and in NYC there will be several parties being thrown for this once a year soiree. So what is a good example of a great place to view this event? Why not try the beautiful Manhattan Cricket Club, which is nestled in the heart of the Upper West Side on W. 79th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam.
Featuring gold-brocade wallpaper, luxurious sofas, and leather-bound books filling the bookcase walls, The Manhattan Cricket club is an appropriately opulent venue for celebrating the glamour of the Academy Awards. Groups may book a private viewing party for $75 per person that includes champagne on arrival, featured cocktails, unlimited beer & wine and an individual snack platter. There will also be an Oscar Ballot Game for you to play there as well. You can either book The Parlor Room at 25 people capacity, or The Library Room which has a 15 people capacity.

Part of Burke & Wills Australian Bistro (226 W 79th Street) on the Upper West Side, and accessed through a secret stair, The Manhattan Cricket Club features cocktails by renowned mixologist Greg Seider (Summit Bar, Le Bernardin), elegant small plates and a new Calvisius caviar program. Inspired by what’s coming out of the kitchen, Seider creates innovative yet accessible cocktails such as-
Salt & Pepper
Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka, Garden Tomato Essence, Smoked Black Pepper, Truffle Salt Mist
Bonfire Of The Calamities
Kaffir Lime-Infused VDKA 6100, Lemon, Agave, Bonfire Spritz
