Our favorite Mexican eatery in Greenpoint, Toro Ironworks Kitchen Bar & Grill, just got a whole lot spicier with some great new additions to their menu for you to enjoy now that the warmer weather is here. Now that the Ides of March has passed, we can calmly and happily look forward to 70 plus degree weather in and out of New York City and spend time at Toro Ironworks in their super awesome backyard with some tasty concoctions to enjoy with you and your friends.

Here is a little more about Toro Ironworks, from our last review of this wonderful location- Toro Ironworks has been open for less than a year now yet seems to has solidified itself as a culinary staple in Greenpoint. Owned by former music executive Sebouh Yegparian, who has been a resident of the Greenpoint area for twenty years, his goal is to bring fresh ideas and unique spins on the traditional Mexican cuisine in both the food and drink areas. He curated a craft beer selection highlighting brews from Mexico including labels like cult-favorite Day of the Dead and the Baja-brewed Ensenada.

They have just added some delicious new jackfruit tacos, as well as some fantastic Pepitos (urban torta-style sandwich served on locally sourced baguette). Super yummy! For the Pepitos, they come in the following flavors:
The Mexico City – a classic with Steak, chipotle mayo, lettuce, pico de gallo, and guacamole.
The Seoul – Steak with Korean style BBQ sauce, kimchi, house-made pickled mango, lettuce and creamy Asian pepper mayo.

If you are a fan of the crepe (as I definitely am), they just designed their own version of one called a Tortillas Francesas– like a crepe but with the Toro Ironworks twist … sugar, butter, dulce de leche … need we say more!?
