With how advanced technology has gotten over the years, it can even affect people when they go out to eat with friends and family as they tend to be glued to their iPhone or iPad. One restaurant’s concept of creating solely shareable dishes to enjoy with the people you came with might be able to eliminate that even for an hour and focus on the tasty food and your surroundings instead. This location is The Stanton Social, located in the heart of the Lower East Side on Stanton Street between Ludlow & Orchard Street.

The brainchild and concept of chef and Food Network superstar Chris Santos, The Stanton Social not only stands out for its high quality dishes but for so many other reasons as well. In an area of NYC that tends to have a very gritty nature to it, The Stanton Social adds am element of class and decadence in its visual execution. With two floors to it, one for eating and one for drinking, the location itself speaks very loudly to why many NYC restaurants are fantastic in its overall presence.
The food itself was outstanding, which didn’t really surprise me given the name behind it. The decade old restaurant keeps things updated and modern with innovative dishes, unique blends of spices and so much more. There were a ton of standouts that you can order and share with your friends the next time you are there.

A classic southern dish that they do incredibly well is Chicken & Waffles, which you can practically turn into a finger food option by holding onto the bone and heading in. The right mixture of sweet and savory, it is a fantastic standout that you must try. Their French Onion Dumplings is another fine example of what makes this place great, as essentially its all the elements of a French Onion Soup in a dumpling form. Great execution of flavor and cheesy goodness.

I haven’t had a Pierogi in years, so naturally I was excited that they had those on the menu in the form of Potato & Goat Cheese, which was my favorite dish of the night. Prepared perfectly with a great amount of flavor. Their Classic Meatballs, Butternut Squash Ravioli, Crab Cake BLT Sliders and Fish Tacos are other highlights of what was a near perfect meal. Something that is great about The Stanton Social is how cohesive the menu is, even with all the different options that are out there.

To finish your meal off, try their amazing Warm Doughnuts that come with three different type of sauces (caramel, chocolate and berry) or their Movie Theater Sundae with all the goodiness of a movie treat including tasty popcorn ice cream and caramel drizzle with a tasty brownie. Heavenly and a great way to end a meal.
Definitely a place worth trying out. For more information on The Stanton Social, check out their official site.
