Beauty is something men and women always try to keep up with, especially now that the warmer weather is here and we don’t have an excuse to stay inside with some warm sweatpants while watching repeats of “Sex And The City”. Spruce & Bond, with multiple locations throughout New York City, is your one stop shop for your wax, laser and brow treatments, where hi-tech meets comfy chic, all under one roof. They have provided some great tips for you to be skin ready post your next wax appointment, that is good to know for the warmer months ahead.
Don’t know much about Spruce & Bond? Here is some more information. Imagine a world where razors are a thing of the past; where nicks and irritation exist only as a distant memory and stubble is old news. Founded in 1998 as Completely Bare, we envisioned a totally new concept in hair removal – one where clients could expect the highest level of expertise and standards, in an environment where they could feel at home and talk about anything with us. With our 2014 relaunch as Spruce & Bond, we’re even more dedicated to this mission. Our customized wax, laser and brow treatments – plus highly trained specialists you actually want to talk to – help our clients stay smooth and confident without spending hours in the shower.

Check out these expert tips from Spruce & Bond Specialist, Keiann Roberts before heading to your next wax appointment:
Make sure your hair is at least a quarter of an inch long. If your hair is too short, the wax may have a hard time gripping the hair. At Spruce & Bond, hard wax is used for more sensitive areas and soft wax for other areas. This wax is patented and exclusive to Spruce & Bond, specially formulated to grip hair and not skin, helping with less ingrowns and less irritation.
Don’t shave in between appointments. This can lead to the possibility of ingrown hair and irritation to the skin. Shaving will exacerbate the problem, causing uneven hair re-growth in-between waxing sessions as well.
After 48 hours, gently exfoliate the waxed area once every few days to fend off ingrowns.
Get your wax at least 48 hours prior to going in the sun. This skin may be more susceptible to sunburn so it’s important to avoid sun, and be sure to lather up with SPF on a daily basis.

Spruce & Bond has locations in the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, and NoHo. For more information, check out their official site.
