Manhattan is known for having some of the best cuisine in the world, but it has some serious rivals out east in Long Island as well. Long Island has so much to offer outside of its wonderful beaches, best bagels in the world and icons from Mariah Carey to Billy Joel. In fact, our food scene is pretty phenomenal, especially in Huntington Village, where high-end locations reign supreme and people from all over the island flock to them. One of those locations is called Prime, a spot for the best surf & turf in New York with an ambiance that is unparalleled in its region.

Prime itself has a lot going for it, seeing as it is located next on the water in the heart of Huntington Village. So it happens to be one of the few restaurants that I have reviewed where the outside is just as spectacular as the inside it. I would also highly recommend dressing up at a place like this, as it calls for you to look your best given how beautiful the environment is. Each room has something very special to offer, starting with the outdoor part of Prime, which boasts a phenomenal patio like atmosphere, where when the warmer weather will finally be here will be a fantastic plus to an already amazing location.

Prime is also a great place to have any big event, whether it is a sweet 16, Wedding, or anything of that sort as the premises has rooms for different functions. Whether you want a reserved table in the corner of Prime, located next to the Kitchen Station where you can see all the action happening, its outdoor venue with heated floors and walls to keep you cozy as the night gets chillier, or even something a bit more romantic inside, they have you covered in every single way.

Of course, we can’t do a restaurant review without talking about the amazing food that was provided to us! Prime does a really good balance of surf and turf in each of the areas of the wonderful dinner menu. For starters, we recommend trying their Gnocchi in a Parmesan-white truffle sauce. Gnocchi is something that needs to be perfectly made otherwise it can taste like mush, and Prime did a fantastic job in its preparation and execution as the taste was out of this world good. For the surf side in the starters, another good choice is their Shrimp & Lobster Wontons, filled with miso mustard and a hoisin glaze. Kind of like an elevated dumpling you would get at any chinese take out place, but so so so much better.

Prime has a wonderful assortment of sushi and surf options, from Scottish Salmon to Lobster and Branzino Filet, just to name a few. If you want the mac daddy of options for dinner there, especially if you are a table for two, I would recommend their Prime California Cut for two, with a lobster au poivre, brandy, garlic, peppercorns and bacon. There are also a ton of enhancements you can put on any of their steaks, including the California Cut, that includes melted blue cheese, bearnaise or a parmesan crust, which we decided to go with. the California Cut, which we requested to be cooked medium, was prepared amazingly and had so much depth of flavor in the combinations of the bacon, lobster, brandy and garlic, that it made for a truly great entree. Pair this with their phenomenal sides, which we recommend their Whipped Potatoes and Wild Mushrooms. Both tasted great and are stand out choices in the starch and non starch categories of sides.

They also have a delicious line of desserts to complete your meal, including top of the line cheesecakes, cookies and more. We recommend trying their S’Mores Sundae for Two, with Graham Cracker, Housemade Marshmallow, Warm Brownie, Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Bean Gelato. A decadent way to end a decadent experience for sure. For more information on Prime, please check out their official site.
