Almost two years ago, I was perusing the Twitter world when someone retweeted a picture from another handle that showcased a stunning man in all of his glory. That man was named Rocco Steele, and at that point he was a newcomer in the industry that possessed a ton of charisma, looks, appeal and so much more that was very much needed at that point. Nearly two years later he has taken all of those characteristics and used them to the best of his advantage, dominating the industry like no one has seen in years, and now is ready for the next phase in his career to begin.
First and foremost, I am very selective when it comes to the men I interview in the adult industry. Why? The current crop of “stars” have a ton of delusional entitlement, overblown egos, unprofessional behavior online and off and inconsistencies when it comes to doing their job to the best of their abilities. Rocco on the other hand, has shown the exact opposite, and has done a pretty amazing transition from newbie to the king of gay porn in only two years, something that many people spend way longer trying to accomplish.
When I met him for our first interview back in July of 2014, I was enamored with his good looks, intelligence, sense of humor and the fact that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, which is something several performers do way too much to where it’s a turn off. He reminded me that, for this particular line of work, it was something along the lines of, “I’m here for a good time, not a long time”. It’s always good when someone knows to not be the last guy at the party, and Rocco is doing that with his next business venture that is already getting a ton of great feedback and notoriety in its short existence.
Rocco has officially launched his amazing line of boxer briefs called 10Seven, appropriately named for what I could only imagine is the size of what is in the briefs itself (hehe). It’s fascinating to me as this was a huge idea of his two years ago, and it’s great to see that it has finally come to fruition and is doing really well so far.
Unlike other “gay” underwear brands that cater to the skinny, “Chelsea boy” type only (no shade), 10Seven is designed for any type of body, and the goal is for you to put them on and feel good. When someone of his magnitude, who could easily put himself on such a high pedestal to only cater to one particular type of body develops something that the entire gay community can enjoy, then it makes my respect for him jump even further. He is also developing briefs which will be available this summer and then jockstraps that will be available in the fall. Giggity indeed.
What’s even better is that for every pair of 10Seven’s that are sold, Rocco will donate $1 to the North Shore Animal League out in my hood of Long Island. Pretty freaking awesome. Don’t count him out of the industry just yet, this is his focus for now, but there will come a time in the not so distant future where his talents are needed and our right (or left) hand is sore with happiness agaoin.
