Travel Idea: The French Manor Inn & Spa in The Pocono Mountains

by Ryan Shea

Our journey in The Pocono Mountains continues!  We first showed you the epic beauty and amazing experience that Silver Birches in the Lake Wallenpaupack area provided us, now we head about 25 minutes away to the Newfoundland area and checked into the absolutely stunning French Manor Inn & Spa.  The location is tucked away & a short uphill drive into what is visual paradise for many, with lush greenery surrounding its rustic, beautiful location that provides amenities galore to all the guests that stay there.

There are several key differences between Silver Birches and The French Manor Inn & Spa that work to the best of their advantages to both.  The French Manor Inn & Spa is literally surrounded by all things green, whereas Silver Birches is water galore as it is part of Lake Wallenpaupack.  From the minute you park your car on their circular type lot, you get an overview of the breathtaking aspects that make up the Pocono Mountains, with trees encompassing your view points near and distant.  It really is such a contrast to the daily life in the concrete jungle we have here in New York City, minus Central Park and whatnot, with a much more authentic feel to it.  Keep in mind, this is all visually done even before checking in!  Talk about a selling point.  What Silver Birches sells with the Lake, The French Manor Inn & Spa sells with a vastly different visual with the landscape of The Pocono Mountains, and so much more.

They have a variety of suites available for the masses to enjoy at each persons disposal.  We stayed directly next to the restaurant/check in their Spa Suites, which is modern elegance done in the best way possible.  Where to begin with this one?  First off, the balcony located towards the back of the room boasts another amazing view of The Pocono Mountains, which myself and my guest really enjoyed.  The bed was incredibly comfortable, and really did a great job at playing the center point of the room as it had enough amenities to make you want to stay in and enjoy what is presented to you.

As you can see, they have a built in hot tub located right as you walk in the room.  I don’t think I have ever seen anything like this in a New York City hotel of sorts, so I was giddy as can be when I saw it as it provided a very luxurious and relaxing experience for me and my guest.  They also have a wonderful fireplace that you can turn on with the touch of a button, and the mixture of the heat from it plus the fan/air conditioning inside really made for a great juxtaposition of warmth and cold that just made the room that much nicer.

For dining purposes, you don’t need to go far at all as they have the best of the best for food and drink located right on its premises.  They have a wonderful restaurant, which has a AAA 4 star award for its 11th year in a row!  Very impressive for any type of region in the country.  Dress code is required, so be sure to show up looking nice for a delectable meal.  The restaurant offers high quality dishes from Pan Seared Scallops, Foie Gras, and Maple-Bourbon Glazed Quail, all standouts on the menu that you should experience for yourself.  You can get a better sense of their dining by checking out the link here.

They of course have wonderful spa amenities within the property, called Le Spa Foret.  Here, you can experience top notch spa services, ranging from couples massages, deep tissue massage, facials, hand massage, and so much more, at a great rate.  With the environment around The Pocono Mountains having a very relaxed feel to it, this just exacerbates it to its fullest content, and something that you really should take advantage of when you check in.

Overall, The French Manor Inn & Spa was a wonderful place to stay at, and I would recommend anyone taking the short trip from Manhattan to The Pocono Mountains and experiencing it for yourself first hand.  For more information, check out their official site.  Happy Travels!
