The MTV Video Music Awards have largely been seen as the coolest and most anticipated award show of the year. In its thirty year history, it has made its way from New York City to Los Angeles, while giving out endless Moonmen and creating some of the most iconic and unforgettable moments in pop culture history. Well, The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards are back in New York City this year, coming to you live from Madison Square Garden on August 28th. Today, we find out who will be nominated for the coveted trophy!

MTV will unveil the nominees for the 2016 “MTV Video Music Awards” via a Facebook Live broadcast from New York City with a simulcast across more than nine partners including the nominated artists, press outlets, and brands, such as Billboard, Elite Daily, Entertainment Weekly, Hugo Gloss, Mail Online, People, Refinery29, The Sun, Us Weekly and Getty. The stream will feature well-known street artists BD White, John Paul Ogrodnick (JPO), Damien Mitchell, Marc Evan, Resa, BKFoxx, Queen Andrea, Hektad, Giz, Such and Poem One, as they unveil a sweeping and panoramic mural depicting the five nominees for “Video of the Year.” Following the mural reveal, MTV hosts will announce the nominees vying for the coveted MTV Moonman!
