A big kick in life is when you find something extra special in something that is already special. And that is what you get when you head to Duane Street Hotel, located in the heart of Tribeca right off the 1/2/3 at Chambers Street, and try out their quaint yet absolutely amazing restaurant Graffiti Earth. Graffiti Earth, which you can find behind the lobby of the hotel, boasts some amazingly fresh and delicious items to enjoy before you head out for the night on the town.
Graffiti Earth, which has a much larger sister restaurant down on Church Street, is proof that quality is much more valuable than quantity. The restaurant, which has a big focus on sustainability, is brand new to the market, having just opened in the spring of this year, and Duane Street, which has been receiving rave reviews all over the internet, has been open for the past eight years.

This is what makes Graffiti Earth so great. You have the option of checking in, relaxing, or simply just being a guest of the restaurant by walking into the lobby and having the amazing bartender make some sinfully delicious cocktails for you and your party while you relax before you start eating. Then, you can simply go through their “dining room” door which leads you to the actual sit down part of the restaurant. Reading like an actual dining room, it is an incredibly intimate experience that is great to go on a date or catch up with a friend.

The menu is simplified yet comes across beautifully in its amazing execution, with sharable plates to enjoy with the person you are with. Here is what I recommend the next time you are in town. The Zucchini Hummus Pizza is a great and healthy alternative to the norm that you would get at any pizzeria, as it has a ton of great flavor with the Zucchini and Hummus on top of the puff pastry of sorts. Great little bit and absolutely delicious.

Hands down the best dish that we had was the Scallop Brulee with Cauliflower Wasabi Yogurt. The Scallops were actually broken, a technique I have never tried before, and mixed AMAZINGLY with the yogurt sauce, which added such an amount of flavor to the already perfectly cooked scallops. Another great main option to try is the Graffiti Burger with Fingerling Potatoes, if you are more in the mood for a meat & potatoes type of dish. The burger isn’t huge in size, but doesn’t need to be as the spices and flavors inside it make it super tasty, and pair well with the fingerling potatoes.

They also have a sweet line of desserts, including a Peanut Butter Jelly Muffin & Persian Toast, just to name a few. I would definitely recommend heading there this weekend for some food, fun and more. For more information, check out their official site.
