As much as I happen to love the summertime in New York City, fall has to be my absolute favorite as the trees change colors, the chilly weather can be super comfortable, and the energy changes in such an amazing way that makes it so vibrant to just be here. While many will escape the city to explore New England’s national parks, there’s a little-known leaf-peeping experience in the heart of the NY metro area – along the Hudson River. Next month, Spirit of New York and New Jersey, dining and sightseeing cruises based out of Chelsea Piers and Lincoln Harbor, are offering four Fall Foliage Lunch Cruises.
Floating north along the Hudson past the George Washington Bridge, guests will enjoy breathtaking views of the Upper West Side as the autumn leaves transform to colors of gold, burgundy and burnt orange. Featuring games like life-size jenga and shuffleboard on the rooftop deck, live DJ entertainment, freshly prepared seasonal cuisine and signature cocktails, it’s the ultimate way to experience fall in the city.
The three-hour sightseeing experiences begin boarding at 11:30 a.m. and prices start at $62.90 per adult and $37.95 per child. Cruises depart Saturday, Oct. 15th and Saturday, Oct. 29th from Pier 61, Chelsea Piers in Manhattan and Saturday, Oct. 15th and Saturday, Oct. 22nd from the Lincoln Harbor Marina in Weehawken, New Jersey. Happy travels!
