Seven Bistro, located in the heart of Midtown West on 7th Avenue between 30th and 29th Street, has quite a lot going for it. Located a couple of blocks from the world famous Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, this beautiful and spacious restaurant has quite the benefits given its location not to mention how beautiful it really is inside, and how scrumptious its American cuisine truly is. I stopped by there with a friend this weekend to experience it all, and was quite pleased by the end results.

What makes this place so great is that it works in many different capacities, whether you are on your lunch break from work or need a place to chow down before you head in for the big game at MSG. It works very well on both ends, as it has a refinement about it that can work in those settings and so much more.
I love the sprawling bar located to the left of the entrance of Seven Bistro, and right above the bar you can see the variety of liquors that they keep on display for their customers. For a more intimate setting, the back of Seven Bistro works best, especially if you are on a date or prefer something a bit more low key. Overall, the space is furnished incredibly well and leaves a lot for the eye to see from entrance to exit.

As mentioned, the food pries itself on American cuisine, which I think is perfect given its location. That being said, here is what we can recommend you try the next time you are at Seven Bistro. For starters, if you are in a salad sort of mood, their Wedge Salad is a great beginning dish. It sort of looks deconstructed in its approach, and its taste level is quite fantastic. For those of you who enjoy something a bit meatier or spicy, their Thai Sweet Chili Wings are simply amazing. They have the perfect blend of sweet and spicy that doesn’t overpower your palate, and can easily be ordered as an entree as it has the potential to fill you up.

Their entrees run the muck in terms of what you can get for American cuisine, including large pasta and steak based dishes, but we opted for the Sandwiches section of the menu. Their classic Seven Burger is a perfect example of keeping it simple but having an explosion of taste encompass your mouth. This essentially is an Angus Burger, served on a Fresh Brioche Bun with Housemade Pickles, Buttermilk Coleslaw & Hand Cut Brown Bag Fries. The burger is cooked to perfection and has a great supporting case in their sweet pickles and tasty coleslaw.

If traditional burgers aren’t your thing but you are still in the mood for something similar, then their Lamb Burger will do the trick. This comes with a Homemade English Muffin, Tzatziki Sauce, Tomato and Oregano Feta Fries. The Lamb burger definitely draws influence on the Greek side, and really tastes incredibly well paired with the English Muffin, which is a type of bread that is very underused when it comes to burgers itself. A great option to order.

If you still have enough room for dessert, their Fallen Chocolate Cake with fresh whipped cream is a great ending dish to enjoy. It is melt in your mouth good, and something we highly recommend you trying.
Overall, Seven Bistro excels in all the areas that a Manhattan restaurant should. For more information, check out their official site.
