Sunday brunch is one of our favorite things to do in Manhattan. It is always nice to have the options of a Bellini with your eggs or a nice beer with your burger and fries to share with the company you are with. One of our new favorite brunch spots on the Upper East Side is Atlantic Grill East, which is a short trip away from the 77th Street stop on the 6 train. Atlantic Grill East boasts a ton of fabulous breakfast and lunch options, but also has some alternative dishes that make you rethink what brunch can actually be.

The location itself is very spacious, with an elongated bar upon entrance that leads to its casual brunch setting which was jam packed throughout our stay there yesterday. The wait staff was incredibly accommodating throughout, and gave us some great suggestions on what to try in their diverse and interesting menu.
Here is what I recommend that you try the next time you find yourself at this fantastic hotspot. Something that makes this different from the rest is their amazing line of Sushi and Sashimi options that you can try as a starter or just stick to this part of the menu. It was quite surprising given how vastly different it was compared to the rest of it.

That being said, their Dynamic Lobster Roll (Salmon, Japanese Cucumber, Watercress & Lime Miso) & Tempura Shrimp & Spicy Tuna Roll (Avocado & Yuzu Koshu Sauce) were our two favorites. The former is brand new to the menu, as all of the ingredients inside it added up to one powerful & flavorful crunch. The latter mixed the spicy and the fried aspects very well together, as the sauce added a tasty component to an already fantastic dish.

On the entree side, we opted for the sea options as opposed to the land ones. One of the first items that I wanted to try when perusing the online menu was their Crab Cake BLT Sandwich, as it combines two of my favorite types of foods into a crunch and yummy dish. Topped with Bibb Lettuce, Tomato and Tartar Sauce with a side of Old Bay Fries, it is the perfect lunch component and gives you a transported sense of going from Manhattan to Cape Cod just like that.

I really enjoyed their amazing salad option that came topped with a fresh piece of Salmon with Shrimp, Calamari, Romaine Lettuce and a delicious Green Goddess Dressing. If you happen to like a variety of options within your salad, then this is a great one to try as the dressing complimented all of the sea components so well.

Overall, Atlantic Grill East provided a great meal and setting that i would recommend you trying out this coming weekend and beyond.
