The Marriott Marquis Times Square played host to yesterday’s “Editor Showcase: Snack Attack”, which featured the latest snack innovations from some well known companies as well as ones that are just breaking through the industry. Snacks are generally thought of as calorie-filled and bad for your health (not these), however most or all of the ones that I tried last night kept the flavor and taste but also brought a ton of health factors that will make you want to snack on them now and some more later on.
I made sure that I was starving by the time I got there, as I really wanted to be able to enjoy this experience to the best of my abilities. Each booth showcased what makes their brand so fantastic, by bringing their A games with their own line of healthy and delicious snacks. Needless to say, I was truly impressed by what was provided.

I’ll break down a couple that I really loved for more reasons than one. The American Pecan Council showcased their line of flavored pecans that I made a beeline for right when I saw them. Everything from Chocolate Covered to Spicy and more were definite highlights for me as it was yet another reminder that you don’t have to lose flavor or taste in order for something to be healthy. More here.

I also loved the France-based brand called Bakerly, which has come up with a completely innovative way to make pre-wrapped crepes taste just as good as ones you would get fresh at a street vendor here in Manhattan. The colorful designs too also caught my eye and I tried one last night and they were simply delicious. More here.

Godshall’s Artisan Butcher probably had my favorite of everything I had last night, with their amazing variety of jerky-based products. My favorite was their Apple Sriracha, which combined a sweet and spicy element so well in their perfectly made jerky. Simply amazing. More here.

Little did I know that there was going to be a celebrity at this event, as Olympic Gold Medalist Dominique Dawes was in attendance as she has partnered with GoGo squeez, which is a leading line of squeezable, 100 percent fruit applesauce in a pouch. This is a great and fun product that I can definitely see my nephews enjoying during a day at camp or school, and she was just a delightful person to be around and get to know.

Other highlights at the Snack Attack was G.H. Cretor’s insanely tasty line of popcorn (please get the Honey Butter Kettlecorn), Cheesewich’s Provolone & Hard Salami Sandwich’s, Hi-Chew’s line of fantastic candy, Farm Rich’s Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes, and Country Archer’s line of jerky. Overall, the event was an absolute blast and I cannot wait for next year where the snack attack will hit me again!
