There are a myriad of apps out there with one simple mission- find the right guy or girl for you at that moment in your thought process. The problem with this is that sometimes it can be hard to navigate the type you are looking for throughout the app, causing it to become frustrating and almost want to give up on finding what you are looking for. Luckily, a new app called Chappy solves those problems and then some and is poised to be the next big app for gay men to find what they want when they want, in and out of Manhattan.

Here’s how Chappy came to life. Recognizing that the gay community is in a state of flux, founders Ollie Locke (Made in Chelsea veteran) Max Cheremkhin and Jack Rogers, set out to change the way people meet. Chappy offers users what they want most – choice – when looking for relationships, as current app offerings fail to offer options beyond instant hook-ups.

Due to this the team invented a ‘Chappy Scale,’ which offers unique options to choose ‘Mr. Right’ versus ‘Mr. Right Now’ giving users the confidence that they are matching with other who share the same interests. Chappy also aims to create a safer space for dating by requiring all user images to show their face in all photos and verifying profiles via Facebook. With over 1 million swipes, Chappy provides gay men with a platform for secure, mature, and safe dating to find whatever their heart desires.

I have already used it and am enjoying the features that Chappy does provide. At this point in my life, I am looking for Mr. Right and unlike other apps, I have chatted with a ton of great men who I can have a legit conversation with without it turning overtly sexual too quickly (nothing wrong with that in certain scenarios).
Granted, if I change my mind to Mr. Right Now or Mr. Unsure, there is that option too. However, I do think this is the one app that gets it right for many different reasons, and I look forward to seeing how this progresses for the gay community in finding the guy you want.
