One on One with Real Housewives of New York City Star Tinsley Mortimer!

by Ryan Shea

Tinsley Mortimer has been one of the most fascinating additions to the Real Housewives of New York City cast in quite sometime.  Being in the midst of larger than life personalities like Ramona Singer and Bethenny Frankel has got to be hard for a newbie on the show, yet Tinsley has managed to make her mark and have this season be one of the best in recent memory.

Tinsley had to go through a lot on this season in order to find her voice amidst this big group.  Her very public past was brought up in a lot of the episodes, yet throughout it all, Tinsley really did a great job of putting all of that behind her, finding love with her gorgeous boyfriend Scott Kluth, and cherishing the friendships that she made with the other women throughout the show.

I spoke with Ms. Tinsley Mortimer before the part two of the Real Housewives of New York City reunion (which airs tonight at 8PM EST), about her first season on the show, who she has remained close to, and what is next for this ever so budding star.  Take a look.

What was your experience like filming your first season of RHONY?

As the newest housewife, filming RHONY was an incredible experience…sometimes exhilarating, sometimes frightening, but always interesting.  The ladies are total individuals with different personalities and backgrounds, but each was a pleasure to meet. Do we have flaws like everyone else? Of course, we do; however, the cast is comprised of an amazing group of women.

Are you happy with how you were portrayed throughout?

The wonderful thing about this show is that it forces you to take a hard look at yourself and you can either choose to grow or live in denial. It’s never easy to watch yourself on television, but I choose to learn and grow from the experience, and this has enriched my life.  Do I regret some of the things I did and said? Of course. But, as I said, it’s all a learning experience.

Any cringeworthy moments you wish you could take back?

(See above).

Who are you still friends or friendly with from the show?

Everyone, however I’ve grown closest with Carole and Dorinda. They and Scott are the best things to have come from the show.

If you were asked to do another season, would you and why?

Absolutely.  Why would I want the fun to end?!!  I truly enjoyed connecting with the viewers and appreciate all of their friendship and support.  I truly consider them friends, particularly the ones who contact me on Instagram.  It’s also great fun to get to know the ladies better.

On a different note, what is your favorite place to eat in Manhattan and why?

Gosh, this is hard…I have so many favorites.  I guess when I think of my go to’s, however, I would have to say Bilboquet for the fun atmosphere and Cajun chicken and J. G. Melon’s for the best burgers and Bloody’s ever.

Finally, what’s next for Tinsley?

I’m in a really good place right now and enjoying life. Scott and I are in Europe for our August birthdays vacation, so I’m just enjoying the moment!
