It’s always great to have a night out on the town, especially when you are gallivanting through Manhattan. At the same time, you can still experience the thrill of the city at the hotel location you are staying at. This is what Loews Regency Hotel hopes to accomplish this fall season and beyond, with their newest concept they are introducing inside their gorgeous location called “Flavors by Loews Hotels.”
The concept is simple: take what makes New York great in terms of the food and drink that is made and prepared here locally, and serve it up to guests of the hotel or any patron who makes a reservation. The ambiance inside Loews Regency Hotel alone is worth heading into, as it ranks as one of the best hotels in Manhattan in an area that I only dream to live in one day (Park Avenue between 61st/62nd street).
Myself and a friend feasted on some wonderful pizza and cake options that were scrumptious and left us full and happy once everything was done. For one, their pizza options are simply to die for, made with charcoal crust from Oliverra Bread. The two we tried were completely different in their execution: one spicy, and one that was a bit more smooth.
They have a Truffle Pizza which comes with homemade mozzarella cheese, porcini mushrooms and truffle oil. On the flipside, there is their Diavolo Pizza with spicy pepperoni and nduya (sausage). The Truffle pizza was creamy and delicious, with the porcini mushrooms adding a nice texture to the overall pizza, and the Diavolo was spicy in all the right ways. Love pepperoni and sausage together, which made for a great couple of bites.
Upper East Side cafe Bon Vivant aids in the experience when it comes to the dessert portion of the meal! They supplied us with beautiful, irresistible petit four cakes that come in very distinctive flavors: Bourbon Vanilla, Lavender Bloom, Coffee Cream and Rose Petal. Even the pickiest of dessert eaters will find one intoxicating!
Let’s not forget about the drinks as well! Hand-cut citrus peels and hand-cracked juniper makes Brooklyn Gin the stand out spirit at The Regency Bar & Grill. Guests of the restaurant and bar can choose from three signature cocktails – a Negroni, Brooklyn Gin Martini and the Bee’s Knees, a lemon infused cocktail that highlights the citrus flavor notes from the gin. For hotel guests who prefer to sip and stay, a special Brooklyn Gin bottled cocktail menu will be available on the in-room dining menus.
