The Gotham Knights Rugby Football Club, who happen to be the one of the top gay & inclusive sports leagues in Manhattan, have announced their annual drag show fundraiser that will be taking place on April 4th. The dudes pictured above won’t be looking like that once you enter Industry Bar that night, I can guarantee it.
For those who are unaware of the Gotham Knights, their story is quite touching and one that goes beyond just playin

g a sport. At around the turn of the millennium, part-time business man Mark Bingham discussed opening up a gay & inclusive rugby league with local rugby player Scott Glaessgen, similarly to others that started before them in cities such as San Francisco, London and Washington.
Sadly, those plans were cut short as Mark tragically passed on September 11th, 2001, in the terrorist attack on United Airlines Flight 93 over rural Pennsylvania. Scott still forged on with plans to start the team in Mark’s honor, and in late 2001, practices began for The Gotham Knights. They adopted the colors blue and gold in memory of him as well, because those were his university colors at Cal-Berkeley.
Mark was actually the inspiration for the Olympics of Rugby called the Mark Kendall Bingham Memorial Tournament, or for short… The Bingham Cup. The event hosts several teams from around the world who descend on a choice city every two years to compete for the big prize. It is one that Gotham wound up winning back in 2010 when the tournament was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The event this year is called Drag Us to Bingham! 5 Golden Years of Gotham Drag! and will take place at Industry Bar on April 4th between beginning at 8:00 PM. The funds raised by the drag show will help ensure that the Gotham Knights can travel to Amsterdam to represent New York and the United States while competing at the next Bingham Cup, the “world cup” of gay rugby, in June.

It will feature Eight of their hottest ruggers getting into their HIGHEST heels to compete for the CROWN. Single dollars are requested for the debaucherous evening ahead.
