Several Stars Attend RFTP’s Opening Atop POD BK Hotel

by Ryan Shea

Pod BK Hotel, located off the L train at 247 Metropolitan Avenue, was THE place to be last night as they opened their fabulous rooftop bar called RFTP.

I for one am not the biggest fan of going all the way down to Brooklyn, but I make the exception when a fabulous soiree is being thrown. The people at Pod BK definitely prepared for the fun night ahead, as RFTP was the perfect place to be on such a beautiful summer night.

What’s great for all the snooty Manhattanites like me is that Pod BK is the first stop in Brooklyn on the L line at Bedford Street. After that, its only a five minute walk where you turn right onto Metropolitan Avenue and are greeted by the location’s beautiful exterior. So no one should be complaining when its that close to Manhattan.

That being said, upon arrival we were whisked to the hotel’s 5th floor which brought us to RFTP (rooftop for those who haven’t figure that out yet). The space was beautifully adorned with a ton of VIP seating, comfortable couches, a sprawling bar and a fantastic overview of Brooklyn which looked absolutely stunning that late at night. There was also a Secret Summer bar at RFTP where guests had the opportunity to sample one the upcoming summer soirees farm-to-bar cocktails.

There were a couple of celebrities in attendance as well, as former Mob Wives cast member Drita D’Avanzo hung out with fellow reality star Natalie Negrotti. They dined on a variety of delicious food and drink, like myself and the rest of us, which included a charcuterie plate of sorts with meats and cheeses, a veggie platter with edible soil, pizza and crisps with guacamole.

We all went downstairs after the party was over and hung out in the bar at Clinton Hall, where we enjoyed a game or two of Jenga and Cards Against Humanity prior to leaving for the evening.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and into a quieter rooftop experience, then RFTP will definitely be the place for you to check out this summer and beyond.
