PN Wood Fired Pizza
One of the top pizza spots in the trendy Flatiron district has several mouthwatering items to choose from for National Pizza Day.
- Fourteen specialty organic flours(that are low-glycemic, higher in fiber and lower in carbs. Customers get to pick which they’d like!
- Healthy pizza, including the veganVegaccina, with Kite Hill Almond Cream Cheese and vegan house made spinach pesto. The dough is matured for at least five days, giving the yeast enough time to break down the sugars, making the gluten easier to digest.
- House-made pasta using the same organic specialty semolina and flour; highlights include the Cavatelli with Branzino and Dill, and the Pappardelle with Colorado Lamb Ragu.
- Appetizers offered include cauliflower hummus with organic tahini, lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil and house made focaccina, and Crostino with snap sugar pea puree, mint, hazelnuts and Romano D.O.P
- Other healthy options include the Vegan Burger, a Beyond Meat vegan burger patty (which faithfully mimics the taste/texture of beef), vegan mayo, roasted tomato and micro greens on a pretzel bun, and the Dandelion & Eggsalad with hazelnuts, pecorino Romano D.O.P., parsley and cranberry dressing.

Old Rose
Tapping into the “light Italian” trend, Old Rose offers an approachable vision of healthyish, italian faire. Nestled on the ground floor of the infamous Jane Hotel, Old Rose is a handsome space boasting ceiling-high windows, Picasso-esque murals by Stefano Castronovo, and sleek, marble-top tables on a checkered marble floor. Plan a pizza-centric breakfast with the Brunch Pizza, a savory combination of egg, smoked potato, mozzarella and guanciale, a traditional italian meat akin to pancetta. Pair with the Bronze Monkey, a boozy combination of italian beer and fresh-squeezed OJ.
Using only locally grown or organic produce and dairy, pasta, bread/pizza dough and mozzarella are made by hand from scratch. Dishes are made to be shared, like the bistro’s famous Vodka Pizza, a crowd (and Instagram) favorite. Pair your pizza with an “Italian Margarita,” a zesty combination of tequila, amaretto, solerno, and lime.
