RuPaul’s Drag Race has been quite possibly the biggest reality show phenomenon over the past eight years. The show has catapulted the drag community far beyond its original expectations, and part of that happens to be the exposure of some amazing plus size queens. As a plus size guy myself, I always find that I’m rooting for those queens each season as they overcome adversity and show the world that there is more to their talent than just their size. The show hasn’t crowned a plus size girl yet, however there has been a bevy of amazingly gifted and amazing queens that have come out of the show and won the hearts of America… and the world.
So who are the best of the best for the girls who represent for the bigger gals in our world? With the premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 2 only a couple of weeks away, we figured we would give you something to debate about early on before we lose our minds again with another great all stars season. Here are our personal top 10. Let us know how you feel!

10. Stacy Lane Matthews- Season 3
Stacy was one of the first contestants on RPDR to really show that you don’t necessarily need to have a boisterous and out loud personality 24/7 when it comes to being a fully realized drag queen. Stacy brought it with her amazing makeup skills, great outfits, and shone in challenges that had her competitors shaking, especially Snatch Game, the Leotarded challenge, and the “Drag Queens in Space” challenge. i still think that Stacy is hella underrated for what she brought to the competition, but she proved a lot of those girls wrong and lasted longer than a lot of them who criticized her from the get go (cough cough Phoenix cough cough).

9. Mimi Imfurst- Season 3
Mimi is controversial for all the wrong reasons. She was also put in a season that tended to skew towards the look more than the actual performance, from my POV. Due to her theatrical background, camp drag, and over the top persona, it pissed off a lot of the look queens who simply had just that to show, while Mimi really did shine in the first two challenges. I really do believe that if she didn’t pick up India in the LSFYL challenge, she would’ve stayed, as India tended to be very boring, as well as her staying past week one in All Stars one due to Pandora’s lack of effort, however Mimi has a huge fan base that sees the star power and potential that she really has.

8. Jaidynn Diore Fierce- Season 7
In a season of bland and boring personalities for the most part, Jaidynn really did shine as someone who had a effervescent personality, great runway looks, and a desire to really be a fantastic drag queen. She brought in the acting challenges, where quite frankly we all know she should’ve won for her impersonation of Bianca Del Rio in the video spoof challenge, and also killed in the LSFYL where she sent home not one but two other queens. Her bubbly personality made her get far in the competition, and I hope we see more of her in future All Stars seasons.

7. Delta Work- Season 3
I had Delta pegged as someone who really had a shot of winning Season three, as she really was the most polished big girl the show has ever seen. Her makeup skills were amazing and fit really well with her ensemble choices, especially the Christmas and Cake challenges. What unfortunately got the best of Delta was her confidence in the acting challenges, which if she was able to get out of that, it would’ve propelled her to really make it to the final three. She is such an underrated queen that really made Season 3 one of the best seasons to date.

6. Jiggly Caliente- Season 4
I loved Jiggly Caliente from the minute she walked into the WERK room on Season 4. You could not deny how freaking hysterical she was, even when she wasn’t trying to be, and really stood out in a season that already had such major personalities. Even her bad fashion moments (episode one), were so bad that they were good, and the “May I call you Jiggly?” thing every week was just hilarious in itself. Oh, and she killed the lip syncs too, with her fierce ass splits and ability to command the stage. I love me some Jiggly, and hope to see more from this amazing New York queen.

5. Roxxxy Andrews- Season 5
Season 5 really didn’t have any plus size queens, but Roxxxy fit the mold of “thick and juicy” (her words), and played that up throughout the season. Yes, she has a lot of haters due to her shade that she threw towards Jinkx, however, she really did a phenomenal job that season. Her fashion skills were always on point, and even though she had an issue with the consistent acting challenges, she really did excel in many of them, in particular the Telenovela, Snatch Game and Children’s TV show parody. Can’t wait to see what she cooks up for All Stars Two, as I think she is a very viable candidate for the crown.

4. Darienne Lake- Season 6
Darienne only gets the amount of shade that she gets because so many people were upset about BenDeLaCreme’s elimination and she got the brunt of it. Big whoop, Darienne out performed her twice. Love Ben, but Darienne really doesn’t get the recognition that she deserves in a season that had a very big Ben/Adore/Courtney/Bianca favoritism thing going on. Darienne excelled in comedy challenge after comedy challenge, even the one that put her in the bottom two with Ben, which is something I still don’t get to this day. She is so underrated as a versatile queen, and let’s not forget that she was the public’s vote to get onto the show in the first place. She must be doing something right!

3. Kim Chi- Season 8
This past season of RPDR really catapulted the show back to life after a dreary S7. One of the reasons for that is that the majority of the contestants had a winners appeal, and that couldn’t be more true than with Kim Chi. Kim had an amazing backstory to her, with her talks about her weight, being an outsider, her relationship with her mother, and so much more which made us infinitely root for her. Outside of that, she is the most talented makeup queen the show has seen in years, and every outfit she brought to the runway was completely gagworthy. Oh, and she can read you to filth so easily and then put a charming smile on her face, sort of like those Sour Patch Kid commercials. She gave Bob a huge run for her money, but don’t fret, Kim has an amazing career ahead of her and quite frankly she is already a winner in millions of people’s books.

2. Ginger Minj- Season 7
Season 7’s real winner, in my opinion. I mean, come on, how could you not crown Ginger to win that season? Outfits- on point. Makeup- amazing. Singing abilities on top of some amazing LSFYL- incredible. There were so many moments that really made me realize how much she deserved to win the season, but her final performance during the finale of RPDR was HEAD AND SHOULDERS better than the other two look queens. It baffles me to this day how she did not win, when she really put her all in every single challenge, and is sort of our modern day Divine. Just like Roxxxy, I really am pulling for her to get some major redemption in All Stars Two.

1. Latrice Royale- Season 4
This really was a no brainer for me. The Large and in Charge, Chunky yet Funky “gay Oprah” really made her mark on S4 from the minute she walked into the WERK room and stated “The shade, the shade of it all”. Latrice’s looks were polished, her ability to make her makeup look like a work of art was spellbinding. She was hilarious in every challenge presented, had a huge heart in helping the other girls out, and overall was such a lovely and lovable character, that she would’ve given Chad, Phi Phi and Sharon a huge run for their money if the public had their way in voting in the finale of S4. Latrice is one of my favorite queens of all time, and I am excited to see what she has in store in the future.
Please tell me you’re kidding, Mimi Imfurst was absolutely ridiculous! She was a weak link from the word go, and how the hell she managed to last so long surprised me to no end. She was whiny, she wanted all the attention on her and didn’t give a toss about the other Queens in her group, so long as the focus was on her. Her name is the most accurate Drag Name I’ve ever seen, because she was all about Me Me Me Me Me Me Me.
Hated her.
