Last night, one of our favorite sushi spots in Manhattan celebrated in a big way with a delicious tasting of wine, sake, cocktails and more. Sushi Seki, located in the heart of Times Square on 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue, hosted the tasting in honor of their placement in “Wine & Spirits Magazine-NYC 50”!

I have had the opportunity to review Sushi Seki in the past, and was quite amazed at what Chef Seki was able to prepare for us that particular day in terms of the variety of sushi items we had. Combining flavors such as Blu Fin Toro and Pickled Daikon Tartare or King Salmon and Tomato Sauté, chef Seki really goes above and beyond when it comes to the thought process behind sushi making.

In celebration of the spot in Wine & Spirits Magazine, Sushi Seki provided a variety of stations where guests could try an assortment of top of the line drinks, including my personal favorite, their Apple Cider Cocktail, as well as a Yuzu Based Cocktail, sake and much more. An assortment of appetizers were passed around as well which were eaten quickly by the hungry guests.

Some of the more colorful people who were there that night were these guys called Sakeman, who claim themselves as Power Rangers crossed with Judo Athletes, where they spread the word of the nectar from Japan called Sake during the day, and throw people around at night. Quite interesting and they were definitely the topic at hand for what became a very fun night.
