18th Annual Blues BBQ Festival Hits Hudson River Park Next Weekend!

by Ryan Shea

We have a thing here for all things BBQ, especially when it brings the best of the best together to celebrate its sticky goodness (see our here for the Big Apple BBQ).  Well hold on tight, because another round of BBQ deliciousness will be hitting the NYC area next Saturday, August 19th, as the 18th Annual Blues BBQ Festival will be invading Hudson River Park.

The concept of this is fairly simple yet has extraordinary results.  It combines our love of blues music with the sweet and tasty meals that BBQ food can provide us.  How amazing is that?

NYC’s favorite BBQ restaurants will be participating to showcase just why they standout in this field, and it includes everything from Pig Beach, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Melt Bakery and Mighty Quinn’s BBQ just to name a few.  I have always thought that NYC lacks in this field, yet these locations (and many more) just show that we can hang with the big boys when it comes to this sort of cuisine.

Additionally, the Park is proud to host the first ever Vegan option at the Festival as Monk Meats joins the group of BBQ powerhouses!  So for any vegans out there who feel like they can’t participate, now is your time to do so as this festival plans to be all inclusive!

If you aren’t doing anything next weekend, come on out for a finger licking good time with your friends and family and experience all that this city has to offer with its soulful blues and tasty BBQ.
