A growing trend that continues to blossom in Manhattan is what is commonly referred to as food halls. Over the course of the past couple of years, several have emerged and have enjoyed a great amount of success in doing so, as the ability to provide a variety of culinary styles all under one roof has pleased thousands of Manhattanites in their everyday commute. Urbanspace @ 570 Lex happens to be one of them, and here’s why.
I first became aware of Urbanspace @ 570 Lex when I stopped by there a couple of weeks ago to try one of their new markets inside called INDAY Go Go (see the review here). As delicious as that food was, I couldn’t help but peruse the entire location to see just how many different types of markets they had available and what else I could try there if I ever wanted to go back.

Luckily, I was able to do that as I stopped in there earlier this week and was toured around Urbanspace @ 570 Lex to get a better sense of what this place was all about. This is one of several Urbanspace locations, as they are also located at East 45th Street & Vanderbilt Avenue as well as TSQ MKT, which has a variety of food and retail offerings right in the heart of Times Square.
Urbanspace @ 570 Lex is still relatively new, as the space just opened only a month ago on March 28th. What’s truly fantastic about where it is situated is that you really don’t have to go that far if you are riding the 6 line, as it really is right upstairs. Location convenience via the subway is always a plus in Manhattan, as many of us don’t want to endure too much foot traffic in order to get to a place, so the fact that this is right upstairs from one of the busiest subway stops in the city is a huge plus in my book.

The vendors inside are a foodie’s dream, as you have the best of the best in everything from sushi, pizza, pies, tacos and more. Your best bet would be to splurge a bit and try more than one vendor depending on how hungry you are. Seeing as I’m always hungry, I had no problem sampling some of what was there, and was thrilled to do so.
The dishes that stood out the most for me were the variety of sushi options from GoFish Sushi Box, which have both made to order and grab n go options available depending on your time frame of being there, as well as INDAY Go Go’s Grilled Chicken Go GO Roti (basmati rice, picked cabbage, roasted tomatoes, green curry sauce and calabrian chili). One more to throw into the mix here was the Clam Basket with Tots from Rockaway Clam Bar, which will sure be a hit now that the warmer weather is upon us.

It’s always good to have a bit of variety in our lives, and Urbanspace @ 570 Lex definitely gives each customer that and more. If you are looking for something new, fresh and innovative to bring your friends to this weekend, then definitely consider this culinary hotspot as your next big foodie mission.
