Invite Only in Meatpacking: Why You Should RSVP

by Whitney Gentile

The meatpacking district is not an area I often find myself in. I’m not a club person, I can’t afford to shop at Restoration Hardware, and cobblestones are hard on my (beautiful, perfect & extensive) heel collection.  I will be making an exception from now on because Invite Only, a new lounge-y restaurant on Gansevoort, is absolutely fabulous. PN Wood Fired Pizza is your New Favorite Pizza Place… and More

by Whitney Gentile

New York City boasts that it is the birthplace of pizza. (Screw you, Chicago. We win.) We have “the first pizza parlor” and $1 slices all over town. We can get it delivered to us at any time of day or night. We have gluten-free pizza places. We claim it’s just better here, (something about the water?), and we are damn proud of it. With all of this, I’m always surprised when someone can change the pizza game, and completely succeed. [Read more…] about PN Wood Fired Pizza is your New Favorite Pizza Place… and More

Take Me IN to the Ball Game — At The Grayson in the LES

by Whitney Gentile

April to October is my favorite time of the year. That’s right, y’all. Baseball season. I start watching the games during spring training and I watch them all the way through the last game of the World Series. Unfortunately, being from Texas, I don’t get to see many games with my team (RANGERS NATION!!) live up here in the city. And THAT is why we need sports bars. The Grayson, on 1st Avenue, just north of Houston, is exactly the place for someone like me. [Read more…] about Take Me IN to the Ball Game — At The Grayson in the LES

Katherine Schwarzenegger- on T.J. Maxx’s “Road to Real” Tour

by Whitney Gentile

Women, all across America, and of all ages, love T.J. Maxx. (A store where you can buy inexpensive gym clothes, cute new high heeled boots, a dress for that wedding we’re dreading going to, AND a new spatula cuz the last one broke, and the cost will end up around $100, total? What’s not to like?) When I go visit my mom in Texas, or my grandmother in North Carolina, it’s a safe bet that we’ll end up in a T.J. Maxx at one point. My mother will mention there’s a new one somewhere near my hometown almost every time I go visit. (There’s a building here in New York City that has both a T.J. Maxx AND a Marshall’s inside of it. It’s basically my favorite building on the whole of Manhattan island.) I have never yet met a woman who dislikes being a “Maxxinista”. We love it. We are normal women. Everyday women, living very different, but still everyday lives, but we all love it. [Read more…] about Katherine Schwarzenegger- on T.J. Maxx’s “Road to Real” Tour

Head to Hudson Square for Brunch at Adoro Lei

by Whitney Gentile

In my opinion, Manhattan does brunch like nowhere else. It’s caught on in other places, of course, but this is still Brunch Central. My friends back in Texas get more excited about going to brunch, when they visit, than they do about going to a Broadway show. [Read more…] about Head to Hudson Square for Brunch at Adoro Lei

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House- New Take on The Well Known

by Whitney Gentile

There are a few restaurants in New York City whose names everyone recognizes. “Foodies” flock to these places. Social media is crowded with pictures of food and cocktails from these restaurants …(including mine — I’m OK with being basic.)
