This past Friday night, The Paramount in Huntington Village out on Long Island had the house rocking but not by its usual way of musical acts or comedic performances. This type of performance was for the ladies (and a few choice gentlemen only), as it was girls night out to see the world famous Chippendales, who stopped by the famed location for their “Break The Rules” tour, an amazing evening that many of them will never forget.
If there was one word that can describe this kind of event to sum it up it would be simply mindblowing. This dancing groupe, which has been around since 1979, are best known for its array of striptease type performances with its dancers having some of the best physiques I have ever personally seen on a man (and I workout in Chelsea, for god sakes). They have even gotten some big named celebrities to join them for an evening or two, as actor Ian Ziering, Joey Lawrence, model Tyson Beckford and more have donned their famous bowtie and stripped down to next to nothing for thousands of women’s eyes and entertainment.
For the show only being roughly an hour and a half (with an additional 20 minute intermission), these guys really do put on an incredibly well choreographed show, with several different types of performances all leading to them with nothing on but a smile on their face. Whether it was a construction worker look, different types of sports gear, firefighter, western, or the classic bow tie look, they took a really unique perspective for each that culminated in the women screaming and everybody having a good time.
They also did a ton of “themed” performances, such as take off’s of “50 Shades Of Grey”, “Footloose”, and even “The Lion King”, which was the standout performance of the night for me. The most risque moment of the night actually came from the women, three of which, who were chosen to go on stage for a little competition with three of the dancers. One had to perform a lap dance for one of the dancers, the other had to showcase her favorite sexual position, and the other had to demonstrate how to put a condom on, using a banana. A banana that she worked very well, if you get my gist. This, however, was a no judgement zone, as everyone got into the groove of each set and really enjoyed themselves throughout.
As a music lover myself, I was extremely impressed with the variety of songs that were played for each type of performance. Everything from Jason DeRulo’s “Talk Dirty”, The Weeknd’s “Earned It” and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” really exemplified how each performance was going to turn out. For the haters out there that simply say this is just a stripper type show, you are wrong. That is a simple aspect of it that has many, many more layers for the audience to enjoy. Quite frankly, it was really a fantastic experience that I recommend any lady out there going to.
