NY Pops Brings the Best of Broadway to Carnegie Hall
It’s a Herculean task to distill over 70 years of Broadway into a single night. With the exception of a few snoozers, NY Pops conductor Steven Reineke managed to do it on Friday November 16th at Carnegie Hall. The celebrated orchestra, along with the New York Theatre Ballet (Diana Byer, Founder and Artistic Director) and Essential Voices USA (Judith Clurman, Music Director and Conductor) treated audiences to “Song and Dance: The Best of Broadway.”

The Skivvies Conjure A Frightful & Funny Night at The Green Room 42
She didn’t exactly wear blue velvet, but bluer than velvet was the night for Lauren Molina, half of the popular duo The Skivvies. With her equally dyed-in-the blue counterpart Nick Cearley, the pair put on a “Halloween Hootenanny” last week at the Green Room 42. Dressed in little else than their actual skivvies, the pair was decked in blue body paint and glitter. They opened their show with a parody mash-up from Songs for a New World and Guys and Dolls: “Songs for a Blue Wave” and “Get out You’re Rockin’ the Vote.” Afterward, they told the packed audience that they were dressed as blue waves—a suggestion they hoped would sweep the nation on Tuesday’s Election Day.
