Philip Chaffin has a story to tell. Actually, he has one to sing. The co-founder of PS Classics has recently released an album which spans a life fully lived from the gay perspective–from the nervous first date through the loss of a partner. “Will He Like Me” is a collection of both well-known and rare gems. Produced with his husband Tommy Krasker, the album has been selected as a 2018 NY Times pick for Gift Giving. The Skivvies Conjure A Frightful & Funny Night at The Green Room 42
She didn’t exactly wear blue velvet, but bluer than velvet was the night for Lauren Molina, half of the popular duo The Skivvies. With her equally dyed-in-the blue counterpart Nick Cearley, the pair put on a “Halloween Hootenanny” last week at the Green Room 42. Dressed in little else than their actual skivvies, the pair was decked in blue body paint and glitter. They opened their show with a parody mash-up from Songs for a New World and Guys and Dolls: “Songs for a Blue Wave” and “Get out You’re Rockin’ the Vote.” Afterward, they told the packed audience that they were dressed as blue waves—a suggestion they hoped would sweep the nation on Tuesday’s Election Day.
