You ever just go to a place and the first word that comes to mind is… Chill? This can be exceptionally stated for Lazy Point, which is located in the sleepy stretch of Spring Street in the heart of Soho. The brand new location, opened for only about eleven months now, boasts some deliciously amazing cocktails, tasty and delectable bar fare, and some really awesome music that makes it an amazing location to go to after work with your friends or on the weekend to kick back and enjoy at.

Montauk
Escape NYC and head to The Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina
The warm weather is finally here! Our winter dreariness seems to be finally over, and us Manhattanites and Tri-State peeps can finally enjoy time outside and wear shorts without getting judgy looks from other people on the subway. Not only that, but many of us are looking forward to endless travel this summer where we can experience the sun and fun with our friends and family. So why not travel to a place that isn’t that far, yet feels like an escape from your everyday norm? I highly recommend then going to The Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina, located on Star Island road in the heart of Montauk, Long Island. As someone who has primarily lived on Long Island for the majority of my life, I have never quite ventured out to the end of it where Montauk resides, and can now say that I am regretting not doing so as for being a town that is not that large in size can make up for it with what it has to offer, in particular the Resort & Marina.

Billed as The Hamptons “Premier” Destination Resort, MYC’s (Montauk Yacht Club) slogan on the key cards they give you for your hotel room pretty much says it all- “Welcome Home”. The space itself calls for a calming and inviting environment that encompasses you in the beauty that is Montauk. The 100 plus rooms that are available at the MYC are all nautical themed with blue shining throughout. Seeing as that is one of my favorite colors, I was instantly turned on by the gorgeous room they provided to me as the color was splashed throughout. Even better? You open the curtains to a terrace with two furnished beach type chairs that overlook the beach right below us. That is right. The beach is mere steps away. To wake up to a view of the breathtaking ocean with its clear waters and beautiful sunkissed sky was absolutely divine and added to the overall experience that the MYC provided us.

Just like any type of trip, food of course should be something on anyone’s itinerary. Now as great as some of the food was that we tried outside of the resort, you only have to walk a couple of steps to experience their top of the line restaurant located inside of it called The Gulf Coast Kitchen. According to its official site, “Gulf Coast Kitchen will transport you to the warm ambiance of southern coastal manor. The living room-styled lounge opens onto a dining room decorated in shades of white with wicker couches, antique treasures and historic images of the Montauk Yacht Club. The dining room also boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that frame spectacular water views. With an enticing menu that combines local ingredients with impeccable technique, Gulf Coast Kitchen offers a serene setting for family dining or a romantic dinner for two.” If you choose to dine at Gulf Coast, I would recommend trying their fantastic Cape Cod Claw Chowder, Lobster Empanadas, Seafood Linguini and Fresh Grilled Stuff Flounder as they all have an incredible fresh taste to them that really gives the essence of what it is like to be in Montauk. Completely delicious. For something a little more on the go, like during breaks from running in and out of the water, you can try Hurricane Alley which is set to open in the upcoming weeks. Need a hearty breakfast or an afternoon snack? They have you covered. Check it out.

The MYC also has a ton of different outlets for you to relax. Outside of lounging on their incredible beach, you can try their wonderful Spa with several options for you to explore. If you are looking for a Massage you can try anything from a Hot Stone, Reflexology, Deep Tissue and more. Need some body treatments? They have that and more with anything from Sun Kiss Body Bronzing, Back Benefit and Anti-Cellulite to name a few. Finally- facials. A good facials can rejuvenate you ten fold. Want to see what they have to offer? See more here. There is also a fantastic and heated indoor pool, tennis courts, top of the line bar right by the Gulf Coast Kitchen and so much more. All available within feet of the room you are staying in. What could be better?

MYC is also an amazing place to have your next big event. Whether it is your wedding, graduation or something else that is special to you, they have the accommodations to make your day that much better. Overall, MYC is hands down a 10 out of 10 for so many different reasons that you will no doubt have an amazing time upon your arrival. What is even better is that it is easily transportable via train or car. If you are taking the LIRR to Montauk, they have shuttles running consistently to pick you up and drop you off at the resort as well as in town where you will find wonderful mom and pop shops, restaurants and more. Like I said before… simply divine.
