Manhattanites can finally relish in the fact that we are hitting 70-degree weather finally, and that it will hopefully stay that way for many months to come. Now that we aren’t confined to the heated up insides of restaurants, many New Yorkers are choosing options to eat al fresco, or outside, and on a fabulous sunny rooftop. Well, here at Manhattan Digest, we have found some great locations for you to do both! [Read more…] about Great Al Fresco & Rooftop Locations To Dine at in Manhattan

A Manhattanite in The Pocono Mountains: Welcome to Silver Birches
Now that the warmer weather has finally arrived, Manhattanites have zero excuses when it comes to getting outside and seeing what the city has to offer. Outside of that, you will find that for travel purposes, some of the best places to visit in the spring and summer time are a mere hour or two away, albeit train or car ride. A place that has always stuck out in my mind for tranquility, beauty, effervescence and above all enjoyment is The Pocono Mountains, which is a quick 90 minute drive away from the concrete jungle of Manhattan. After spending the past weekend there, all my thoughts about this beautiful part of Pennsylvania were realized and then some, especially with the first part of my trip- staying at the newly renovated Silver Birches, located in Hawley alongside the absolutely stunning Lake Wallenpaupack. Take Me IN to the Ball Game — At The Grayson in the LES
April to October is my favorite time of the year. That’s right, y’all. Baseball season. I start watching the games during spring training and I watch them all the way through the last game of the World Series. Unfortunately, being from Texas, I don’t get to see many games with my team (RANGERS NATION!!) live up here in the city. And THAT is why we need sports bars. The Grayson, on 1st Avenue, just north of Houston, is exactly the place for someone like me. [Read more…] about Take Me IN to the Ball Game — At The Grayson in the LES

Boulton & Watt: People Should Come Here Just for the Cookie…
Right where Houston becomes East 1st Street at the corner of Avenue A sits Boulton & Watt, a restaurant/bar that’s decked out in brick and wood and looks right at home in its young professional-filled neighborhood. When I entered on a Thursday evening in early May, the after work crowd mingled with birthday partygoers, clogging up the space by the bar. The establishment is big enough to accommodate standing groups of loud twenty-somethings as well as other diners, all mostly of the younger set but a couple of older men in suits and a family were sprinkled in with the dining crowd.
