MTV revealed the nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards this afternoon, on a Facebook Live broadcast from New York City, during which “Video of the Year” Nominees Adele, Beyoncé, Drake, Justin Bieber and Kanye West were unveiled with a larger-than-life street mural. Columbus Circle Welcomes The Best Of Jazz Starting Tonight
Jazz is one of our most historic and iconic types of music, and is something that should be appreciated a lot more than it is today. Luckily for us Manhattanites, we have the opportunity to enjoy the best of the new wave of jazz music all under one roof for the rest of the summer. This is called Session at the Circle, which starts tonight at Columbus Circle. The event will take place each Tuesday until August 30th, and will feature young and upcoming jazz artists including trumpeter/Wynton Marsalis protégé Riley Mulherkar and Christie Dashiell of NBC’s “The Sing-Off”. Theater Review: The Power of Punctuation at Davenport Theater
It comes as no surprise to learn that Natalie Margolin, who both wrote and stars in The Power of Punctuation, was considered one of the funniest women at her Alma mater. The Kenyon College grad could easily be placed in the same category as Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Amy Schumer. Margolin’s drama thesis is currently being staged at the intimate Davenport Theater and is well worth the 60 minute investment.
