New York Fashion Week Spotlight Designers: PAXYMA
While most of us were spending the last hurrah of summer at our beach houses (or our friend’s beach houses), those who work in New York’s fashion industry have been busy getting their collections finished for New York Fashion Week. For some, like Steven Hoffman and Ramin Paksima who will debut their PAXYMA collection at NYFW, it’s meant long hours in a small corner of their Astoria home, literally cutting each piece by hand themselves. Sen Sakana Blends Japanese & Peruvian Cuisine Beautifully
Sen Sakana is a fantastic new restaurant that may just be my favorite one that I have checked out in 2017 (and I go to a lot of great places, mind you). Fusion has always been a wonderful vocabulary word when it comes to culinary cuisine, and the blending of Japanese and Peruvian is simply delightful with what they are able to accomplish in their diverse and absolutely delicious menu. Travel Idea: Take a Ninety Minute Trip to Philadelphia This Fall
A city that I find Manhattanites don’t go to that often is the “City of Brotherly Love”, otherwise known as Philadelphia. It’s weird that we don’t find ourselves there too often, even thought it is a quick and cheap ride away via the Amtrak (same distance if you were traveling to Huntington on the Long Island Railroad, about 90 minutes). The summer is officially coming to an end shortly, and the fall in Philadelphia will be chock full of great events to head to, restaurants to chow down at and hotels to stay in for a great night sleep. Here’s why we think you should be visiting Philadelphia for the fall. [Read more…] about Travel Idea: Take a Ninety Minute Trip to Philadelphia This Fall

However, you still have to eat, and luckily there are a couple of great spots neighboring these iconic theatres that you must try while you are here or just taking the subway to see these award winning shows. Eataly’s Rossopomodoro Shakes Up September with Shakshuka Pizza
Shakshuka. Sounds fancy, huh? According to Wikipedia, the origin is derived from the berber language (one of the oldest languages in humanity) meaning “a vegetable ragout that brings tears to the eyes.” It can often be found in Middle Eastern restaurants and is served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Davio’s Manhattan Has a Stellar Linguini and Clams Dish.. and More.
Davio’s Manhattan has been a big favorite here at Manhattan Digest for a couple of years now, as it is the perfect balance of ambiance meets sophistication meets location. With it being only a two block walk from Grand Central, it is one of the highlighted restaurants of the area for their ever changing menu that stays with the season, hearty plates that will keep you full, and fantastic service that will give you an overall great experience. A big “foodie” type holiday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and Davio’s has put their best culinary foot forward to ensure that you enjoy it and then some.
