Get Your Nails New Year’s Eve Ready
The holidays have wrapped up and the new year is rolling in, but what’s going on with your manicure? With just a week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, it is easy to let the candy cane mani last a bit too long or your current color chip off rather than start new. But you don’t need to find the time to go back to the nail salon to step up your nail art game for the new year. All you need is a quick swipe of a new color, or even a quick tweak to your existing color before you head out for the night.
Manhattan Digest’s Best of 2015 Theatre
Please excuse me for a moment while I air two gripes. I’ll be back after these messages with my round-up of 2015 theatre.
Can we all stop talking about Hamilton as though it were the only show on the boards right now? I confess that I have not seen it, although I have enjoyed listening to the original cast recording. I’m guessing that it is worthy of the accolades. I suspect that the performances are award worthy. I believe (from what I’ve been told) that the staging is innovative. I’m estimating that words like, “game-changer” and “revolutionary” are appropriate. Yet this I know for sure: 42 other shows opened on Broadway in 2015 and long running shows continue to play to packed and nearly sold-out audiences eight times a week. The coverage that Hamilton received (and continues to receive) is similar to the reporting tactics of our mainstream media outlets: A major news story breaks and each and every headline for weeks following is about that singular occurrence. Meanwhile, other global events occur and are subjected to a two sentence blurb in the news ticker-or even worse-are passed by with total disregard. So, let’s stop acting like Lin Manuel Miranda, talented though he is, is the new messiah of musical theatre. Hundreds of other performers earned their paychecks by turning out fine performances and other stories were were worthy of presentation. There is room at the table for nearly everyone, and there’s more than one entree (Hamilton) on the buffet.
Catching Up With Hip Hop Legends Naughty By Nature
In any realm of entertainment, it takes quite a lot of feats for someone to be considered legendary. That can include anything from work put forth, amount of time in the industry they are in, and the impact and legacy they leave upon the industry itself where future generations of artists look up to them and are inspired by them when they themselves are developing who they are. When you encompass all of that and then some, you truly are no doubt a legend and therefore that title fits perfectly with what you have done in your career. This can easily be said about hip hop royalty Naughty By Nature, who are taking that idea and putting it into fruition with a 25 Year Anniversary Tour and new EP all slated for early 2016.

Essential Voices USA’s Holiday Harmonies: Songs of Christmas
Simplicity is all too often confused with uninteresting or dull. Yet Buddhist wisdom teaches us that greater happiness comes with simplicity than complexity. While the Eastern religion may not be exactly aligned with Judeo-Christianity, this wisdom is well executed on the latest Sono Luminus recording, “Holiday Harmonies: Songs of Christmas.”

Why Gay Men Edge but Never Cum When it Comes to Commitment
I was watching a very old episode of “Sex And The City” the other day, it might have been the pilot, where the discussion surrounded around women trying to have sex like men. In other words- no feelings, get in, get out, with no emotions. In the modern age we call that a friend with benefit or in layman’s terms, a fuck buddy. However, a growing trend I have seen in the gay world, especially in major metropolitan cities like New York, is the idea that men will edge and edge and edge their brains and nether regions into thinking that the next man (or scene) will finally be the one to make them finish looking (and coming), but some are never truly satisfied and will continue edging for their own personal (and sometimes) selfish reasons. So the question remains- why do men edge and never cum when it comes to actually committing yourself to another guy?

Theater Reviews: NYC Christmas Shows
There is good reason why the stage versions of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and George Balanchine’s Nutcracker have endured: They are reliable classics that warm the heart and instill a feeling that, as the song goes, “our troubles will be miles away”. Still, they are not the only shows in town which will- figuratively speaking- add some glitter to your holiday balls. Below, you’ll find a variety of options throughout the city which will aid in making your theatrical yuletide merry:

Something that David brings to his scenes in terms of intensity and the ability to convey to fans that he enjoys what he does really sets him apart from the other players in the game. Now David is heading into 2016 full throttle as he just became an exclusive with TitanMen, one of the biggest and best studios out there. With all that is going on with David, he took time to sit down with me and discuss his new role at Titan, his favorite scene partner so far in his career, who he wants to work with now and thoughts on his hopeful future. Take a look.
