As someone who grew up in the 1990’s, anything that can give me a bit of nostalgia is severely awesome as I truthfully believe that it was the best decade for so many reasons.  Well when you have not just one, or two, but THREE different reasons to bring the 90’s back into the forefront of 2016, then it’s a reason to celebrate for more reason than one.  Three of the biggest acts of the 90’s- hip hop legends Salt N Pepa & Kid ‘N’ Play and Rob Base, will be hosting a FREE concert tomorrow night at The W New York-Times Square.  How awesome is that?  This will officially kick off The “I Love The 90’s” tour in partnership with SX Liquors, one of the best liquor brands in the country! A Manhattanite in Philadelphia- Where to Eat?

by Ryan Shea

Now that the warmer weather is finally hitting us, so many New Yorkers are looking to take those vacation days that they have stowed away and get out of the city for a bit.  With so many different options to travel to, why not settle for something that is literally a 90 minute Amtrak ride away, with endless benefits that will guarantee you a great trip?  This is of course, the “City of Brotherly Love” that we know as Philadelphia.  At Manhattan Digest, we have visited some great cities in the United States from DC, Providence to most recently San Francisco, and we are very excited to show you why Philadelphia has so many great options to enjoy with such a short distance to get to them.  First on our list, my personal favorite- where to eat?  Going to another city should never mean hitting up a chain restaurant due to familiarity, you should divulge into the local scene and see what makes that particular city so great in terms of its fantastic food adventures.  Staying in the “Gayborhood” part of Philly, there were a couple that really stood out to me for several reasons.  Here are some you should visit on your next trip down there. Who Was Our First Celebrity “Bear” Crush Growing Up?

by Ryan Shea

When you are growing up in the years that will somewhat shape the kind of person you will be, something that will form no matter how you look at it is the type of person you are attracted to.  Straight, gay, or in between, a lot of what we see that influences us into determining who we like happens to be on the big screen or the television at home.  So many of us have an attraction to bears and bear types, yet there had to be a starting off point that got us to where we are today, whether it is from a dating or sexual viewpoint.  I recently polled a ton of my bear & bear loving friends with the simple question- “Who was the first bear-type of guy that did it for you on television and/or the movies?”  The colorful responses I got were quite in depth and interesting, as the tastes varies depending on body hair, age, charisma, race, and so much more. Peep Show Cocktails & Dancers at W Times Square

by Ryan Shea

We are big fans of The Living Room inside the beautiful W Hotel, right in the heart of Times Square.  It’s modern vibe and eclectic feel to it makes it stand out in an area of the city that is cluttered with not much to look at, especially if you live here and aren’t the typical “tourist” type who inhabits that part of the city.  Nevertheless, they have come up with a super new concept, just in the for the spring.  They are introducing six new cocktails that have a theme to them designed after the Peep candy that we all love for this time of year.  On top of that, they are kicking off a “Peep Show” performance this Monday, where burlesque performers will be entertaining the crowd as they sip on these delicious drinks.
