Maxximize Takes Over Hammerstein Ballroom on February 13th

by Ryan Shea

If there is one thing New York City is known for, it is its endless amount of fantastic types of music scenes that one person can indulge in.  In recent years, something that continues to be on the rise here in NYC is the EDM scene, as that particular type of music gels well with a huge audience, both on and off the Billboard charts.  So it comes as no surprise that a huge live music event that is happening next week has a great EDM background with some fantastic performers to go along with.  This event is called Maxximize, and it is happening at the world famous Hammerstein Ballroom next Saturday, February the 13th.

As someone who is always interested in up and coming brands, primarily ones with an LGBT focus, it gives me a great sense of adoration when there is one in particular I really like a lot that has had some fantastic developments to them, all within a short time frame.  This can be said of the up and coming and booming clothing line Krave and Kulture, who just relaunched their website with four incredible new collections for the savvy & smart guy.

When it comes to the Mecca of food magazines, you really can’t get better than (and I’m not including mine, just yet. Hehe.) than Saveur Magazine.  Saveur is essentially the standard when it comes to finding the best foods, chefs, and so much more around the world to satisfy the culinary-savvy readers that love their publication so much each month.  Now Saveur has come out with a special edition of their magazine called The Saveur 100- essentially what you should be cooking in 2016, and is available on Newsstands now.

Allure Day Spa & Hair Design Lights Up Midtown East

by Ryan Shea

I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and in that whole process one thing can actually lead to another.  In this sense, it has do with an amazing spa location that I recently discovered last week.  I was asked to write an article on this app called LookBooker, which is essentially the OpenTable for Salons throughout NYC.  After writing the article, I glanced through what was available as I was looking for some treatments and a new spa to call my own.  One of the first ones that showed up was Allure Day Spa & Design, located in the heart of Midtown East and a mere two block walk from the 53rd/Lexington Avenue stop (convenient!).  Since discovering them, I have been back twice and really enjoy the experiences that Allure provides.

Great Places In NYC To Watch Super Bowl 50

by Ryan Shea

Super Bowl 50 is only four days away, where we will find out if the Carolina Panthers can commence their incredible season with a SB win, or if the Denver Broncos can take care of some unfinished business from two years ago and claim victory. Several places in New York City will claim to be the hot spot for where you should go for food, fun, football and more… but which ones are the best? Here are a couple that we think you should stop at this coming Sunday.

The BBG Brings The Classic Steakhouse To Life With A Twist

by Ryan Shea

Vegetarians aside (no shade), everyone loves a perfectly cooked steak.  Steakhouses in and out of New York are pretty common for us NYC and Long Island folk, yet a lot of them seem to echo the same type of menu without much differentiation.  Well, that all changed for me last night when I tried a brand new location called The BBG, located in the heart of East Williston.  The BBG, which is short for “The Butcher’s Bar & Grill”, takes the Steakhouse concept and elevates it to an entirely new level with its Mediterranean influence thrown in on the side.  It makes for a duality that really sang to us when we stopped by there last night.

Love Conquers All For NYC’ers & Beyond on LoveWinsDating.com

by Ryan Shea

Guest Contributor: Daniel Woolmer

Now that Love is starting to win for the LGBT community and equality of marriage is becoming accepted over many countries worldwide, we really need to stand for our rights and get the rest of the world on board. The days of being stereotyped for our natural genetics and outcast-ed with the things that do not fit in to the bracket of “normal”, is on its way to being over. The LGBT community must now make the most of the freedom that so many pioneers past and present have worked so hard in braking the boundaries so we can have what we have so far in the modern times.

The Brand New Nintendo NY Store Reopens February 19th!

by Ryan Shea

As a kid of the 90’s who grew up worshiping and adoring all things Nintendo, I am thrilled that its legacy remains true and honest with the generations that have come in and loved it just as much as I did nearly twenty years ago.  Now that the iconic Nintendo Store in Rockefeller Center is reopening its doors in two weeks to the public, my only hope is that future generations can really see the impact that this amazing company has brought to millions of people who love incredible characters like Mario, Luigi, Kirby and so much more, all under one roof. And they will be able to see that when its reopened on February 19th, starting at 12PM.
